Stone Harbor, NJA beach environment.

• This is a v-trip of the jetty and point beach in Stone Harbor, NJ where I go on vacation every summer. The point has been left undeveloped aside from conservation efforts, so the waves have shaped the beach for centuries. This area fosters much wildlife, including bird species and marine animals.

This area of the shore has been left untouched, so the waves naturally shape the beach.

Over the years, barnacles, algae, and clams have accumulated on the rocks of the jetty.

The jetty is a very interesting part of the beach. Overtime, sand erosion will begin to cover the rocks, and the jetty will appear to be shrinking.

Waves wash onto the beach and bring sand particles with them.

The salt water from the ocean combined with with the pressure of the sand has caused a solid dune to develop.

• In conclusion, I would like to encourage people to visit this area and learn more about what it has to offer. Not only are there a plethora of interesting geological features, but the wildlife is also amazing. It is such a beautiful area and is perfect for a relaxing family getaway, or an educational field trip.
