SKILL LEVEL KEY Beginner: Easy projects. Little or no

knowledge of quilting or knitting. You must know how to use your sewing machine if one is needed for class. Advanced Beginner: Quilters must

know basics of quilting and use of rotary cutter. We rec-ommend Basic Quiltmaking class before taking ad-vanced beginner level. Knitters must know how to cast on, knit, purl and bind off.

Intermediate: Fully comfortable with rotary cutting, basic quiltmaking techniques and piecing using 1/2 and 1/4 triangles. Knitters must be comfort-able with more advanced concepts, e.g., gauge chang-ing and stitch patterns.

JUDY’S TALL GRASS QUILTERS Quilt Sitters Circle was initially based on the tech-

niques and patterns of Mary Ellen Hopkins. Over the years it has evolved and is now based on the designs of Judy Hasheider.

Our club is now called...Judy’s Tall Grass

Quilters...and will no longer have any requirements for membership. Each meeting will feature a pattern created by Judy, a showing of new products in the shop and lots of inspiration from a show and tell of members.

We meet the second Tuesday of the odd months

(Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, Nov) at 1:30PM or 7:00PM. The last meeting for 2014 is:

Tuesday, November 11th 1:30PM or 7:00PM

Guest fee is $12.00.

FOLK ART WOOL APPLIQUE CLUB with Judy Hasheider

Folk Art Wool Applique Club 2014 has featured

four new original designs by Judy. The year began with a pillow with stylized leaf,

followed by a Celtic alphabet...a tote bag, a skinny table mat, a wool stocking and a small decorative pouch that could be used to hold a dried arrangement, small feather tree, etc...

Meetings are on the third Wednesday of Feb, Apr,

Jun, Aug, Oct and Dec. An afternoon group meets from 1:00-4:00PM and an evening group from 6:00-9:00PM.

Wednesday, December 10th 1:00 - 4:00PM or

6:00 - 9:00PM If you missed the October meeting be sure to pick

up a supply list for the December project.

BUILDING IN COLOR: BLOCK OF THE MONTH PART I

Do you know how to knit and purl and now you’re

ready to try color work? This two part series will intro-

duce you to the world of knitting with more than one color...one panel at a time. Each of the ten panels will focus on new skills and ways of using multiple colors. At the end of Part II, you will have enough panels to complete your own colorful blanket.

Terry will teach two blocks each month and continue

in 2015 with three more sessions. The last session will cover sewing your panels together.

Thursday October 2nd, November 6th & December 4th

6:00 - 8:00PM The fee for the three sessions is $45.00. The book

Building In Color is required.

We received the following message from Joleen Adkins, the local area coordinator for ConKerr

Cancer:

“I’m sending out a great big THANK YOU to every-one who helped in September to create smiles for the American Family Children’s Hospital.

We ended up with 1,192 pillowcases...these pillow-

cases will be taken into the hospital over the next sev-eral months. Many of these pillowcases had added touches like small accent pieces on the borders, deco-rated stitching, and embroidered words of encourage-ment on the cuffs, and someone even took the time to insert tiny zipper pockets sewn into the inside of some of the pillowcases. You ALL are AMAZING!

I wish each of you could see the smiles, and hear

the thanks that come with giving such a simple gift. The kids love them and their parents are so appreciative of the fact that someone would take the time to do some-thing so nice for their son or daughter.

So from the kids, the staff and from me...thank you!

A pillowcase really does make a difference. Smiles, Joleen Please email me at [email protected]

with your name, address, and number of pillowcases donated for the 2014 year if you wish to receive a dona-tion letter for your taxes.”

SOUTH CENTRAL WISCONSIN SHOP HOP Our local SCWSH event is moving to February in

2015. “Celebrate the Heart of Quilting” with us in Febru-ary. Watch for more details in our January - February newsletter.
