Tone Values
Values are the different shades of gray between white and black. Artists use values to translate the light and shadows they see into shading, thus creating the illusion of a third dimension.

Let’s do a sketching
Getting Started… • In the A4 sketchpad, sketch as much as possible
a landscape and still life objects as your subject matter. (not fully detailed drawings)
• One sketch each paper and you must using charcoal pencil as your tool.
• You are given 40 minutes to produce at least three landscape and three still life object sketches.
