What’s the project all about?

Still Aiming High aims to increase the skills of youth

workers, making YMCAs more effective in supporting

young people.

What’s the cost?

Absolutely nothing! YMCA england is able to offer

training to member YMCAs for free, thanks to funding from

the Department for Children, Schools & families (DCSf).

Where do standards come in?

YMCA england’s Insync Standards have been developed

as a set of criteria to help member YMCAs gauge the

effectiveness of their work. Part of the Still Aiming High

project aims to help YMCAs complete the Insync Working

with Young People Standard. YMCAs do not need to be

signed up to Insync to benefit from the project

How does it work?

Still Aiming High is delivered regionally via “regional mentors”

who offer support, guidance and encouragement to member

YMCAs. Projects will be visited to help with work relating to

the Insync Working with Young People Standard (Workbook

17). In addition, staff involved in working with young

people can be directed towards appropriate training

providers offering nationally-recognised youth work

qualifications. We offer a bursary of up to £450 per

person for staff who complete a qualification.
