* Online classes and classes taught at TSTC will require a fee of $60 per class per semester. There will be scholarships available on a first come first serve basis. Academic or Technical College credit (depending on the class) will be awarded. T-DC= Technical Dual Credit. This credit will count as both a high school credit and a technical credit at a two-year college. I t will not transfer to a four year college unless an Associate Degree is completed. A-DC=Academic Dual Credit. This credit will count as both high school credit and college credit. I t will transfer to a two year technical college or to a 4 year college.
1. If there is a class on your pathway for your grade level that you have already had----- mark through the class. FIRST----It will either be replaced with the next class needed of that subject. SECOND------ It will be replaced by an elective.
2. HONORS CLASSES-- please write an “H” on the block of the class you would like to take an honors class. You must meet the Honors criteria and be on the teacher’s list of approved students for the class before you will be scheduled into that class.
3. In the event a student wishes to take BOTH Athletics and Band in 9th grade, Band will replace Spanish. Spanish 1 & 2 will then be taken in 10th and 11th grade. Please mark through the box marked Spanish and write “Band”.
4. Depending on the student’s TAKS scores, it may be necessary to replace an elective class with a TAKS tutorial class. 5. If a student fails a class necessary for graduation, they will be required to attend summer school before they can advance to
the next year on their plan. If the class is not offered in summer school, it may be necessary to replace an elective if a class needs to be taken again.
6. This pathway is a working document. Many special circumstances may apply including: class failures, transfers from another school, summer school, and Honors courses. The counselor will evaluate each student’s schedule on a case-by-case basis if needed and may find it necessary to circumvent some choices made by the student. Elective choices are not guaranteed but we will do our best to accommodate every student.
If you have special circumstances not addressed here or questions, please write your questions on this paper and a phone number. You will be contacted and we will be happy to help you!
