So if Stepping Up means Increasing in steps or by stages. Electricity Serving to increase voltage An increase in size, amount, or activity Do you want to live life the way you want to live it? Do you want to face a sticky issue with your boss or grin and bear it Do you fear tackling a problem in your relationships or at home with your family? Do you fear making a change, because you don’t know what will happen next? Do you fear losing control or taking control? We all have these fears, but what do we do about them? Whether we see these fears in action and treat is as our obstacles (which are a reality to us by the way) or acknowledge them and push through them to success, it’s our choice. We fear beginnings, endings, change, staying put....failure.

FEAR

Page 8: Stepping Up Are You Game For It

I’m not enough

I can’t handle it!

Presenter
Presentation Notes
If you could handle anything that came your way, what would you possibly have to fear?
Page 9: Stepping Up Are You Game For It

Trust in your ability

Whatever happens to me from today, in any situation,

I CAN handle it.”

Presenter
Presentation Notes
I want to encourage you at this point to Trust in your ability to handle anything that comes your way. We’ve always been told from a young age “don’t touch, be careful, watch out .....” the message could be “the world is a dangerous place.... And you will not be able to handle it” We get these messages all the time, but what you can tell yourself is” Whatever happens to me from today, in any situation, I CAN handle it.” My mentor once encouraged me by saying: The way to get out of fear of doing something, is to face it, and get out and do it. I later found it to be a quote from a book by Susan Jeffers titled “Feel the fear and Do it Anyway”. I’ve taken a few notes from her book and they are included in this webinar today.

FEAR => GROWTH!

Presenter
Presentation Notes
Fear is not a sign of retreat, on the other hand it is a greenlight for you to move ahead. This is where you really grow.
Page 11: Stepping Up Are You Game For It

“Why should I put myself through all that stress and discomfort that comes with taking risks?”

“Why can’t I just stay put and continue the way I live my life (the good, bad and ugly)?”

Page 12: Stepping Up Are You Game For It

Masked Security

• There are things we will not have control over

Pushing through fear is less frightening than living with the

underlying fear that comes with helplessness.

Yet, you can tell yourself ...

Whatever happens to me from today, in any situation,

I CAN handle it.”

Page 16: Stepping Up Are You Game For It

Reframe your Vocabulary• I can’t

• I should

• It’s not my fault

• It’s a problem

• I’m never satisfied

• Life’s a struggle

• I hope

• Next time

• What will I do?

• It’s terrible

• I won’t

• I could

• I’m totally responsible

• It’s an opportunity

• I want to learn and grow

• Life’s an adventure

• I know

• Next time

• I know I can handle it

• It’s a learning experience

Presenter
Presentation Notes
Reframe your vocabulary to one of power. I can’t means that you have no control over your life, where I won’t puts a situation in the realm of choice. Eg, I can’t come to the webinar tonight vs I won’t come to the webinar tonight (subconsciously you have made a choice to do something else of a higher priority). Responsibility – you can do something about it, you can change in the future It’s an opportunity opens the door to growth. It’s a gift to expand your experience, your mind and stretch your capacity. You become even more powerful. I know – I can handle it. I can learn important things from the experience. I can deal with it.

7 STRATEGIES TO HELP YOU STEP UP IN YOUR GAME PLAN OF LIFE

Presenter
Presentation Notes
Take small risks everyday.. They will expand as you grow and step out of your comfort zone.
Page 20: Stepping Up Are You Game For It

1. Know your

Purpose

2. Vision & Goals

3. Action

Planning

4. Values

5. Belief System

6. Choose

your Attitude

7. Shout about it

Presenter
Presentation Notes
Embrace uncertainty – Experience your fears, get into Unfamiliar territory – so what, everyone faces the same thing too, some have just overcome and gone past that point and are facing new unfamiliar territories. Reframe negatives into positives – learnings, self talk Let go of certainty and security (comfort zone), learn to see things as an adventure, a new world ready to be discovered, expanded possibilities and new opportunities. Get out and do it Feel better about yourself – get out and do it Trust in your ability to handle – get out and do it 1. Know your Purpose – Know why you want what you want 2. Vision & Goals - know what you want and go and get it. No one is going to hand it to you. 3. Action Planning – determine what you want in life and act on it. 4. Values – be aware of the choices you have and what is most important to you, in any situation that comes your way. Choose the path that leads to your growth and makes you feel at peace with yourself and others. With values, we are at peace when our actions are congruent or aligned with our internal values, because that is what drives us. 5. Belief System – familiarise yourself with your self talk and internal references. Only accept empowering language and positive vocabulary. You will feel paralysed or stuck for certain reasons that you chose to overlook before. They may be giving you some secondary gains and payoffs. What are they? It’s time to let them go, and build a new belief system of powerful self talk. 6. Choose your Attitude – avoid casting blame on external sources for your bad feelings in life. Nothing outside yourself can control your thinking and action better than yourself. Be aware when you are fearful, and get excited, because you know there is an opportunity for growth. 7. Shout about it – learn to think more positively, tell others about it, commit your actions to others around you. That will keep you accountable. You will also gain someone who will be there for you, to cheer you on, to encourage you. Get a coach! Get a strategy partner.
