Stepping Stones Choice Board - FOUNDATION Week Commencing: Wed 1 st July – Tue 7 th July Each day complete one task from this choice board. If you want to complete additional tasks you can explore other areas of Purple Mash. Science Remember to keep monitoring the growth of your strawberry plant and fill out the growth chart. Don’t Forget … The children have access to a Yumu Charanga account to develop their music skills. Each child has their own login and password (I sent these on Dojo and Purple Mash emails). Art – Spirals You can choose one of these tasks or both if you really want to!! Task 1: Lots of spirals! This can be done on paper or, if you have chalks, can be done on the ground outside (check with parents first though!) Use the edge of the paper as your frame (or draw a frame if using chalk). Fill the space with swirls then fill the gaps with swirl parts so it looks like they’re overlapping. Task 2: Huge spirals! This task uses a snail shell as inspiration. Again draw on paper or on the ground outside using chalks. Start small in the centre using tiny wrist movements and carry on until using your whole arm to create the outer spirals. You can build up your creation by using different colours following the same spiral shape. Art James Brunt – this Yorkshire based artist arranges natural objects to form amazing works of art. Visit his website jamesbruntartist.co.uk for inspiration and have a go at creating your own. If you use leaves then remember to take your photograph for me before your artwork blows away!!! Create a piece of pattern artwork using 2Paint A Picture Geography There are lots of flags in the world – each country has their own unique design with a special pattern to it. You can see these flags on the posters in your learning pack. I’d like you to design your own flag for your own imaginary country – try to think of a really interesting pattern you can use.
