The company now has approximately six million customers who receive exclusive shopping benefits, such as Cashback and Shopping Points for their purchases at more than 70,000 Loyalty Merchants in 47 countries worldwide. With its network of chain stores, small and medium- sized enterprises and online merchants, and over 300,000 Acceptance Points, myWorld Solutions AG enables shoppers to benefit from shopping in every sector all over the world. Accelerating the integration process with Salesforce myWorld Solutions AG had a lot of data in- house. To improve service to its shoppers and merchants, the company needed to bring all this information into Salesforce. myWorld Solutions AG resolved to connect its internal CRM system to Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Sales Cloud, and was looking for tools to help do that. The goal was to increase the speed of uploading data from merchants into Salesforce so that it could be analyzed and used to enhance marketing programs, improve service and boost sales. “We have an internal software development department,” says Stephan Kochauf, Director of Software Development for myWorld Solutions AG, “but we didn’t want to re-invent tools for our integration projects. We wanted to use available tools that are easy to set up and manage, and that can be put into production rapidly.” For myWorld Solutions AG, speed of integration was key: Getting data into the cloud quickly enables the company to provide better service to its merchants, which, in turn, helps merchants get the right products in front of the right customers at the right time. Why Talend? myWorld Solutions AG evaluated three software solutions and selected Talend Cloud for its simplicity, speed in integrating data sources, and speed of deployment. “We also selected Talend Cloud because it has a lot of built-in connectors to directly connect to Salesforce. It’s critical for us to push data quickly into Salesforce, especially the initial upload,” says Kochauf. “We were pleased and impressed with how fast Talend was able to upload the first batch of data and with how fast it finishes the daily uploads.” After adopting the Talend solution, Kochauf says myWorld Solutions AG was able to start its Cloud project in six weeks instead of the three months previously planned, with only one developer on the project. “By using Talend, we saved several months of development time, and gained a lot of flexibility. I don’t believe any other tool would have enabled us to go live in just six weeks with two integration projects.” Completing four integration projects Currently myWorld Solutions AG uses Talend Cloud to integrate its on-premise, legacy CRM based on a SQL Server database with Marketing Cloud. The size of the myWorld Solutions AG database is in the terabytes, but the initial data upload was approximately 80GB and 45 million objects. Incremental daily uploads typically consist of about two million changed or new objects, and Kochauf estimates the daily upload will reach 200GB next year.

A second integration uploads merchant data from the legacy CRM to Sales Cloud. Data uploaded includes contact information for 70,000myWorldSolutionsAG-affiliatedmerchants and anonymized data about customers worldwide that myWorld Solutions AG sales teams use to derive statistical analyses for merchants.

myWorld Solutions AG has its own support system, which is now connected with Sales Cloud. The company has been moving cases to Sales Cloud via Talend to give employees more information about ongoing support cases for merchants.

A third integration project with Talend links Sales Cloud to an on-premise telephone system that makes marketing calls, while a fourth project connects an on-premise ticketing system that uses a MySQL database to Sales Cloud.

Using Sales Cloud to boost merchant salesFor myWorld Solutions AG to operate at peak efficiency,it’sessentialtogetjust-in-timeinformation.

With Sales Cloud, myWorld Solutions AG provides its merchants with insight into how their marketing programs are working, alerts them to new sales opportunities, and makes availablespecificmarketingproductstoimprove their results.

For example, says Kochauf, integrating myWorld Solutions AG’ internal systems with Sales Cloud enables merchants using the myWorld Solutions AG Cashback Solutions to more easily and quickly access statistics about their customers, which helps them personalize their marketing for individuals. “Merchants can use our SaaS products to

access relevant information, check on the effectiveness of their marketing programs, and make course corrections to get better results,” says Kochauf.

Internally, the sales team can better understand how merchants are using the product, which features they are using most, and who is not using the product anymore.

“If there’s a problem with a merchant, our sales department needs that information as soon as possible so they can contact the merchant to send feedback, updated marketing information, new ads or some other remedy. We can’t help our merchants if the data in the cloud is days or weeks old. To deliver the most value to our merchants, we need our internal systems to be synchronized with the cloud in a matter of minutes.”

Using Marketing Cloud to better serve shoppers“We use Marketing Cloud to show our customers how many Shopping Points and Cashback they’ve collected,” says Kochauf, “what they can do with their Shopping Points, and where they can spend them.”

The company also uses Marketing Cloud daily for such tasks as answering service calls, placing outbound marketing calls and creating newsletters and reports.

Kochauf says that this cloud approach helped save time and resources and enabled myWorld Solutions AG to focus on its business objectives. “Our main business is making products for our merchants, not integrating internal data sources with cloud systems,” he says. “The Talend solution helps us reduce to a minimum the resources we devote to integration and use them instead on serving the needs of our merchants.”

“We’rereallyquitesatisfiedand happy with Talend because it matches our needs so well. We’re already planning to involve it in more integration projects in the near future.”
