Prizes & Recognition

1st Place: $1000 (plus presentation of Step Up project at Youth in Government Day and YouthFest 2011)

2nd Place: $500

3rd Place: $250

Note: Team members must share the cash prizes.Prize money is provided via Loudoun Youth, Inc.

Step Up Judging

Round 1

• Initial screening process (after Jan 7 deadline)

• Applications assessed for appropriateness, thoroughness, commitment and preparation

Round 2

• Review Session (Jan. 27)

• Attend for fine tuning, advice and Q&A

Round 3

• Step Up April 4

• Presentations will be judged on the depth of issue analysis, quality of the solution, effectiveness of implementation, originality (in issue selection and treatment), and thoroughness of preparation
