This is a step by step guide that i did to make my album cover fount and back, starting with Paint and working up to Photoshop, all the way through the desighn work and modifications.

I used a layering tool to achieve different effects with the picture. Using the Curves tool I was able to highlight and darken different parts of the picture.

I didn’t like the metallic effect I got at first and so decided to go back and make the picture look more natural. The effect I used made the subjects hair lighten and made the skin more brighter giving it a rosé tint. The eyes were made darker by emphasising the shadows around them.

To finish off I cropped the picture to the right size and added the band name “Grinnich” and album title “Blacked out eyes” using and internet page with many different fonts on it.

My back cover used two images of my eyes to tie it in with the album theme and I added tracks in the same font as the album title.

To complete my album back I moved the track names to the centre, added detail such as the barcode and record logo and added a line of copyright text.
