STEEL INDUSTRIES STEEL INDUSTRIES

Right since inception in 1965 by Late Shri P.S. Jain, Jain's have been constantly fast growing

while breaking new grounds by consistent development and innovative technology thus

ultimately spiraling to commanding heights. By virtue of incessant labour, hard work & above

all top-notch managerial skills, the company has reached an optimum level of 60,000 MT

capacities per annum. Jain's is a completely updated steel re-rolling unit committed to zero

defect production caliber. As a result Jain's have since then been catering to the needs of the

projects of National importance viz. Hydel Projects, Railway Tunnels, Railway Electrification,

Transmission Structure and on top of it the Public and Private sectors. Jain's Steel structure

have so been in continuous demand with the Govt, Semi-Govt. & other Institutions.

Jain’s Galvanised Masts have been enjoying a significant status with Railways for Railway

Electrification & H-Beams for making Ribs for Tunnels of Railways and Hydel Dams. As such

Jain’s Structure have become the need of the day. Jain’s is the first SSI unit in India to

produce H-Beams and Columns (150x150mm, 152x152mm, 200x200mm & 225x225mm)

apart from Industrial Use Rails of 30 lbs to 95 lbs followed by other beams, channels, angles

and flats in various sizes to cater the demand of heavy industries, tunnels as well as hydel

dams.

Jain's was the first industrial unit to substitute the import of heavy structural H-Beams.

Rather it is exporting all kinds of steel structures to Middle Eastern countries including the

sales to Nepal, Bhutan & Sri Lanka. A large quantum of business from the Western Asia and

African Countries is likely to be bagged. In addition, Jain's are trying to keep pace with the

demand of steel structures in the international Market since long. That is why Jain's adhere

to all the International Standards viz. IS/BS/DIN/JIS/AISI/GOST/ASTM specifications. Jain's

thoughts are now fully concentrated to contribute substantially in the earning of foreign

exchange for the development of the nation.

International Market

2

Jain's has gained an enviable reputation for reliability, innovation and cost-effectiveness. Our

proficiency in the field of Manufacturing, Fabrication & Galvanising of structural steel have

enabled us to produce revolutionary products that have changed the dynamics of the

industry. Besides, our team works in close co-ordination with the customers to understand

their requirements and offer products in exact accordance. We have a state-of-the-art

infrastructure that can take care of any kind of bulk orders/ specifications. With our efforts

we have won a huge clientele, from not only India but also abroad.

Management

It is more than four decades when Jain's were professionally managed by Late Shri Prem

Sagar Jain, who was the founder as well as dynamic statesman having enormous leadership

qualities as a result Jain's surpassed contemporary manufacturers in production. Needless

to mention Jain's production graph escalated to near installed capacity incredibly.

But after the sad demise of Shri P.S. the reins of the company had to be taken over by his two

sons : Sh. Pankaj Jain, CEO of the company and Sh. Sanjay Jain undoubtedly Sh. Pankaj Jain

have the blend of corporate expertise, hereditary skills of management and distinct vision,

who is trying his level best to maintain the entire show run as it was. Today both the brothers

are desperately utilizing best of their ability, exceptional interaction qualities in order to lead

the Jain's to further heights. The management is also assisted by highly experienced &

technically qualified professionals to give rise to proven quality. The management is

committed to customer satisfaction through qualitative products and steadfast deliveries.

The company since its inception has enjoyed the reputation of giving quality products at

competitive rates. Companay quality management has been recognised and approved by the

Bureau of Indian Standards and the Accreditation from International Certification Services

and Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand. We are the certified ISO

9001:2000 Company.

TechnologyJain's are managing medium & heavy structural rolling mill accommodating six stands in

queue attached with tilting tables, rollers and conveyers. The cooling bed is 22 meters in

length that enables to roll unit lengths of structures up to 20 meters. The movable beam type

cooling bed is meant to transfer the hot rolled material to its discharge end.

Raw MaterialBillets/Slabs/Blooms strictly conforming to IS:2830 are used for rolling into the required

sizes & sections which are further put to rigorous tests i.e. Complete Chemical Analysis with

IR Spectrometer & Ultrasonic Tests. There-after the raw material is slashed into assortment

sizes as needed and finally fed to 80 feet long Oil fired pusher furnace to attain and maintain

constant temperature of 1250° C, then rolled.

Bendability & WeldabilityJain's steel structures are easily bendable due to extremely controlled chemistry & ultra

modern manufacturing techniques, resulting into buckle-free bends at any angle whatsoever.

Jain's steel structures can be welded by any of the welding processes generally used for

welding plain carbon steel structures. Welding can also be performed without the need of

pre/post heating. It does not exhibit severe hardening in the heat affected zone. That is why

Jain's steel structures withstand any test relating to bendability and weldability.

Fabrication Process Hot Dip Galvansing & Straightening Process

Final products of the company in black condition are straightened by a 10-Roll Horizontal and a 6-Roll Vertical Straightening

Machines in tandem and are stacked for further processing of drilling and punching with the help of fixtures at various platforms

of radial drill machines and punching power presses to achieve zero difference holes meant for Railway Electrification and

transmission and communication towers to ensure proper group fitting of any product on to it as per RDSO/customer

specifications. Highly experienced staff has been engaged for handling the sophisticated jobs of punching and drilling.

Supervisory staff for looking into the quality also helps in to maintain the desired level of drilling schedules provided in different

drawings. Most of the steel sections produced by Jain’s are used for welding purposes making either masts, towers, fitting

items, cross arms, two to seven track cantilivers i.e. portals, special structural steel etc. etc., hence welding is done through

Arc Welding and Mig Welding in accordance with the BIS Code. Branded Anti Spatter Spray are used to get the better

performance during hot dip galvanization on all welded materials.

After galvanization material is straightened through screw type heavy duty straightening machine to ensure 100%

straightening of all materials which does not effect any zinc coating of the material. All pieces are strictly checked for

straightening within permissible limits and then dispatched after all tests of galvanization and zinc coating.

Hot Dip Galvanized

Hot Dip Galvanizing is the process of applying of Zinc coating to iron or steel surface for protection against corrosion. During the galvanizing process a series of alloy layers are formed due to a metallurgical reaction that takes place between steel and zinc.

The zinc coating protects the base metal by acting as an impervious shield between the metal and atmosphere and provides additional protection even when moderately sized areas of base metal surface are exposed.

Hot dip Galvanizing Gives :

Excellent corrosion protection to steel.

Two levels of protection.

Long Life

Freedom from rust

Low maintenance

Jain Steel Industries follows the following method to impart the protection to the base material against corrosion.

Preparation

First step is the preparation of the material to be galvanized. In the galvanizing process materials are subject to very high temperatures. To avoid any potentially explosive situation it is therefore necessary that the materials to be galvanized are fabricated such that there are no blind corners, sealed tubes or any other such area.

Results :

Appearance of finished Galvanized coating may vary depending upon the chemical composition of the parent material.

Final product appearance can range from bright shiny to dull gay. The dull gray colour is due to the high silica content in the steel.

The protection offered by the galvanized coating is however not dependent on the colour and its effectiveness remains the same irrespective of colour.

Our galvanized coating safeguards the material against corrosion in an exposed environment for more than 25 years under Indian conditions. The period of protection is much longer in a less harsh and internal environment and can extend beyond 60-70 years.
