1. Replace steel with steel
a. Use a high Young’s Modulus material to strengthen the concrete, more than 5 times the concrete Young’s Modulus
b. High aspect fibers to increase the possibility that crack meets a fiber (bridging effect).
c. Avoid increasing crack-width, thanks to high creep control.d. The tensile strength of steel fibers is at least 2 times the
tensile strength of rebar, mesh or synthetic fibers.
2. Defining a fiber solution for temperature and shrinkage stresses with optimum crack control
Steel fibers offer the same level of crack control as rebar or mesh. The minimum ratio of temperature and shrinkage reinforcing area to gross concrete area shall not be less then 0.075%. Dramix Ready does not replace negative moment steel.
