  • Dear Esteemed Colleagues and Seniors,

This is my second month that I am writing to you from this august position as Chairman of EIRC of ICAI. As I have already

communicated to you last month that I wish to make a new beginning and with renewed vigour to scale the new heights of

excellence with perfection. I know it is not an easy task as we have to make a journey of thousand miles but this small step

that we will take will mark the beginning of this journey towards excellence. I am sure that with all your support we can

    fulfil our vision.

I have always been inspired by a famous quote - Perfection is not achieved completely by anyone in the world. But if a person keeps chasing

perfection, somewhere on the way, he or she may achieve Excellence through perfection.

    MARCH 2020 – Lookback

I feel quite excited to share that each day and every moment, we are working towards achieving our vision at EIRC for the year 2020. An all round

initiative is proposed to be taken for members and students some being outlined to you through my communiqué last month. The programmes

are designed in a manner so that they lead towards building & honing the capacity of the participants and also enhance the overall visibility of

the profession. All our programmes have been widely publicised and covered by both electronic and print media. As at the outbreak of COVID

19 we have to close down all our CPE Seminars on and from 12th March scheduled to take place at EIRC Premises and at outside venue. To

maintain the continuity of Seminars after some programmes being called off due to the COVID 19 exigency we have arranged for Live Facebook

telecast from EIRC’s Facebook Page of those seminars for knowledge sharing basis without CPE hrs. As we are in the phase of a nation wide

lockdown which has started from 22nd of last month hence we have to close down all our scheduled Seminars and this has been supplemented

with a series of Webcasts on Refresher Course on Bank Audit which are scheduled to take place in the first week of this month. The speakers

for this Refresher Course are from various parts of the country and includes CA Amarjeet Chopra, Past President, ICAI, CA Ajay Jain, CA Abhijeet

Sanzgiri, CA Ashutosh Pednekar, CA Abhay Kamat, CA D S Premnath. These Webcasts on the Refresher Course on Bank Audit will be telecasted

in the Facebook Page of EIRC.

    MEMBERS

With the advent of the SSP Portal the members and firms are finding it convenient and easy to access information from this website in having

their queries answered. As the webportal is yet to achieve its full functionality hence we have opened Helpdesk for the members and students

at both the buildings. Taking a step forward we will be opening Mobile Helpline for the members and students so that they can communicate

with all the departments of EIRC and ICAI Kolkata Office. Please don’t attempt to do this right now as the office is close due to lockdown. I appeal

to all of you to donate generously to ICAI Covid 19 Relief Fund (visit www.ICAI.org).

    STUDENTS

There is never enough that we can do for our students, hence they will be in the focus of all our activities this year. The youth of today will be

the leaders of tomorrow. Our students deserve adulations for choosing the right path to their career. In this fast paced economy, it is of utmost

importance that both tangible and the intangible skill sets needs to be honed, developed and made visible. I personally feel that communication

and presentation skill is vital. EIRC through its Students’ Association will soon be organising programmes for enhancing the Communication

skills of the students. We will soon be approaching the President of ICAI to obtain his permission in having Bio metric attendance of students

    perusing articleship

    FEEDBACK

EIRC looks forward to your valued suggestions and all round feedback towards its endeavours. You can always give feedback and suggestions

    in my email given below.

Friends, life is like a river which ultimately confluences with an ocean. Each step is towards a larger objective of well being and taking the Institute

to newer heights. Nothing stays with us. What remains with us is the fond memories of all who make this confluence happen. I solicit your whole

hearted support & participation in all the events at EIRC.

I urge all of you to take all the precautions against COVID 19 and abide by the directions issued by the Ministry of Health, Govt. of India. I am

sure that our awareness on COVID 19 and precautions taken will help us in overcoming this menace.

I appeal to all of you to contribute to ICAI Covid – 19 Relief Fund. You can visit icai.org or eire-icai.org to know the details of the fund and

    contribution.

Let us pray to the Almighty that the World will be free from Corona Virus very soon.

  • Dear Students,

My best wishes to all of you. At present the world around us has been going through unprecedented challenges arising out

of COVID 19 pandemic which has disturbed the world economy, the entire World is fighting against this unseen enemy, to

save human lives. I salute the Doctors, health care workers, sanitization workers, volunteers and policemen who are fighting

against the virus in the forefront by putting their lives in danger. The Central Government & State governments have

implemented drastic measures to contain this virus. My advice to students is, to maintain social distancing at home and at

work places and to use face masks whenever they move out of their homes to overcome the spreading of this virus.

CA Exam of May attempt has been extended to mid-June for COVID 19 Pandemic, so students appearing the exams have now got enough time

to revise, I request the students to continue their study as per the plan made by them and use the extra time for revision and for students who

have not yet started exam preparation seriously, now they have got an opportunity to succeed. Other students not appearing the exam can

utilize this time to upgrade their theoretical knowledge and skill sets. You can visit the EIRC website and “Eircicai Icai” Facebook page to get

access to various webinars organized by EIRC.

My sincere advice to students “Stay home, stay safe and build your career”

    Thanking you

    Yours faithfully
