Static charges attract dust onto the inner and outer surfaces of the pouch / bag. This hampers effective sealing and also could lower the appearance of packaging. Solution In order to eliminate the static charges, it is recommended to use Valstat ® VR 20 AC static eliminating bars after the unwinder and on the filling area as shown in the above diagram. Depending on the need, Valstat ® circular profile static eliminators may be used in the sealing area.

Static charges in vertical form fill and seal machines
Problem
On a vertical form fill and seal machine, electrostatic charges are produced when the packaging film is fed
from the winding roll. Static charges attract dust onto the inner and outer surfaces of the pouch / bag. This
hampers effective sealing and also could lower the appearance of packaging.
Solution
In order to eliminate the static charges, it is recommended to use Valstat® VR 20 AC static eliminating bars
after the unwinder and on the filling area as shown in the above diagram.
Depending on the need, Valstat®
circular profile static eliminators may be used in the sealing area.
