We need sunlight – especially natural healthy sunlight!

Life on earth has developed, in an evolutionary

process around available resources, especially

sunlight. Most existing organisms, on the earth’s

surface, are collectively dependent on sunlight, as

without light many biological functions cannot take

place. Illness is a consequence of lack of sun. The fact

that sunlight contains both essential and harmful

radiation particles is well known – as a result, the

length of time spent in the sun must be limited or

appropriate protection sought out.

Our aim is to find possibilities, which enable a healthy

stay in the sun, with only the positive effects – while

excluding any negative impacts.

We at HelioVital®“ have succeeded at this.

What is HelioVital®?

HelioVital® is the German registered Trademark of

HelioVital GmbH and is the general term for an

ultraviolet-light filter system (UV Light for short),

whose development utilizes both natural sun and

artificial light in a healthy manner.

By means of transparent filter films, HelioVital®

removes a higher proportion of UV with a harmful

nature, from the light spectrum, which can cause

sunburn or skin cancer. While simultaneously

retaining specifically, the beneficial and bio positive

proportions.

We named this „HelioVital®-Principle“.

The outcome is immediately accessible, constant

highly effective sun protection results under which

Complex filter film structure

In collaboration with relevant specialized research

institutes and dermatologist, HelioVital® has

developed a high-tech filter film. Their multi-layer film

layout achieves, in both natural sunlight and artificial

light, a selective and nanometre exact UV radiation

filtration, whose filter characteristics are strictly aligned

to both scientific and dermatological findings.

The constant translucent filter films are available in

various constructions, depending on requirements.

As opposed to conventional shading, HelioVital®

signifies not only just sun protection, but protection

and specific sun protection through immediate, risk

free, promotion of health through inclusion of bio

HelioVital® - the significant difference to conventional sun protection: HelioVital® is with its combination of qualities and the

HelioVital® principal, unique worldwide.

In the last few years, conventional shade

textile producers, have battled it out to see who

could produce the highest protection factor i.e. UPF

50+, with the idea - “the higher the better”. On the one

hand a higher protection from sun burn is always

positive, but on the downside the body was being

denied vital UV radiation - something detrimental to

health in the long run.

The same goes for sun cream. After the motto: “the

higher the sun protection factors the better” most

consumers tend to go for the sun cream with a

higher rather than lower light protection factor.

Most consumers are not aware that this high

protection factor is only achieved by using lots of

chemical substances. On top of that, beneficial rays

are blocked, especially by creams using light factor

30+ and over.

Sunglasses with the attribute “UV 400” have

additionally pushed to the front, to be emphasized as

a quality feature. But the eye also requires UV

radiation under 400nm wave lengths to remain

healthy.

There are numerous adhesive films currently

available on the market, that can be put on windows.

The difference between them and HelioVital® is that

they are not selective, they do not filter selectively. On

the contrary, they reduce the relevant light spectrum

by a known fixed percentage, for example between

50% to 80% - depending on make and model. This

means, in this example, that 50% to 80% of the

harmful but also the beneficial rays are blocked out.

What does the HelioVital®-filter film achieve in the human sector?

The HelioVital® filter film, with the “we are selective -

Technologie” reliably filters specifically hazardous

radiation from sunlight, before it can reach skin, hair

or eyes. Seeing as the cause is filtered out, the

harmful effects cannot occur!

HelioVital® – Comprehensive protection!

From a dermatological point of view, HelioVital® has

a unique protective effect, thanks to the HelioVital®

Principle on human skin. HelioVital® seriously reduces

the development of free radicals- which are caused by

UV and IR radiation - thus preventing the damage of

endogenous cells and genetic material -and in turn

protects from one of main causes of skin cancer.

The skin is effectively protected from the damaging

effects of the sun. People, who up until now had to

avoid the sun i.e. people with sun allergies, can

HelioVital® and Vitamin D – or avoid the sun?

Sun is essential. Avoiding sun rays due to their UV

risks is not a solution. Also “time management” while

enjoying time in the sun, is doomed to failure due to

lack of risk measurability and subjective perception.

The amount of disease resulting from of sun

deficiency, is increasing worldwide, affecting the

quality of life and leading to high costs for health care

system.

According to the global study of disease burden, a

direct connection has been found between sun

deficiency and the substantial increase in costs for the

health care system. The costs and consequences of

sun deficiency symptoms are already greater than the

costs and consequences of sun damage. A complete

change in thinking by the “anti-sun” warner’s is in full

progress.

Anyone who wants to reliably and adequately cover

their Vitamin D requirements, should use natural

vitamin D gained from the sun.

A person can only get ca. 10-20% of their vitamin D

requirement from their diet alone. Of artificial vitamin

D, found in specialized compounds, it is said that only

ca. 5% can be usefully absorbed into the body and that

these compounds can be easily overdosed, leading to

In a study carried out by Heidelberg and Graz

University, over a period of 8 years with 3,200 men and

women, who had had a cardiac catheter examination,

found that the patients with the lowest vitamin D levels in

their blood had double the mortality risk.

HelioVital® vs. Sun cream – Chemical hazards and nanoparticles

HelioVital® does not see itself as a complete

replacement for existing sun protection possibilities

such as sun cream. In areas of every day life, where

their application is avoidable, unsuitable or not

tolerable or basically out of convenience not accepted,

HelioVital® is the perfect alternative. Anyhow, in

contrast to HelioVital®, sun cream does not offer any

protection for eyes or hair, selectively filter UV

radiation and as a result eventually blocks beneficial

rays.

In HelioVital® shade no sun cream is required.

Occasionally, additional use of sun cream or

protective clothing is recommended, when for

example, extreme scatter radiation is apparent or

when leaving the HelioVital® shade.

The use of sun cream can carry risks, and not just

because of its chemical content. More often simple

mistakes in application lead to inadequate protection

e.g. through insufficient use or skin areas not creamed

properly.

As well as chemical substances, sun cream

occasionally contains shiny nanoparticles, which are

meant to reflect the suns rays from the skin.

Naturally, the application of substances on the skin, is

accompanied by risks and side effects – both for the

user and the environment. As these dangers are well

known and lots of creams contribute to the production

of free radicals, the manufactures mix their creams

with antioxidative substances, instead of trying to

prevent their production.

On the other hand, HelioVital® prevents the

development of “free radicals”, through the use of the

selective filtering, making it impossible for them to

reach the user.

Chemical UV filters are composed of a chemical cocktail,

made up of chemical filters, emulsifiers, preservatives and

fragrances. A series of these chemicals work like

hormones – a allergic reaction is almost guaranteed. The

substances penetrate the skin and accumulate in the

body.

For example: A Swiss research study NFP50 from

26.06.2008 came to the conclusion: Chemical UV filters

were found in breastmilk, in more than 75% of the

women, who were tested. It is proven that these filters are

damaging for mother, foetus and baby. Warnings are

given about the use of sun cream with chemical filters.

Naturally, sun light is proven to be extremely important for

both mother and child – can be read in several diverse

research papers.

During a study, in the University Clinic in Copenhagen

(2008), traces of UV filters were found both in blood and

urine sample, 2 hours after the correct application.

Sun cream purchased in 2008, in the USA contained 588

harmful Oxybenzone. 84% from 910 sun cream brands

provided inadequate sun protection or contained harmful

substances. On the 21.05.2010, the EEC recommended

only 39 from 500 - or 8% - tested sun protection products,

on grounds of harmful/ questionable ingredients.

In light of the risks from the chemical UV filters, the industry

has responded by developing sun cream and cosmetics with

physically active nanoparticles. Nanoparticles are the

smallest particle - a 1000 times finer than the width of a

human hair. These nanoparticles are supposed to reflex the

UV light.

Unfortunately, these nanoparticles are made of photo reactive

titanium oxide, which means, in UV radiation they create “free

radicals”. These, in turn, possess strong biological reflection

capabilities and attack biomolecules. Also, these

nanoparticles, being so small, can enter cells, tissue and

organs and finally the central nervous system through the

bloodstream. Nanoparticles are suspected of causing e.g.

inflammation in the lungs and damaging genetic material

(DNS).

HelioVital® and the environment

Numerous current studies warn about the negative

impact of sun cream on the eco-system.

Sun cream threaten stretches of water and even the

oceans - it destroys coral reefs. A single drop of sun

cream is enough to contaminate the content of 6

Olympic sized swimming pools, killing of any corals

found within.

Coral reefs belong to some of the most productive eco

systems on our planet and contribute directly to the

livelihood of half a billion people. Having said that,

around 60% of reefs worldwide, are threatened.

As a result, Tulum, in Mexico and Hawaii, have

already banned the use of sun cream. Similar action is

being urgently demanded for the Mediterranean Sea,

to try and slow down the alarming lost of corals.

In 2018, researchers from Warnemünde, documented

residuals from UV filters and UV stabilizers, found in

both the North and Baltic Seas.

It is safe to say: this ban will surely follow in different

locations, whereby the Tourist branch will be forced to

take action, sooner rather than later. On the one hand,

the guest wants sun, but on the other side they cannot

be adequately protected from the risks.

HelioVital® filter films are completely free from

emissions, which are constantly released into the

environment. They are also free from allergenic

substances.

which could end up in the environment, for example

through swimming, perspiration or rinsing substances

As conventional greenhouses

lose important light nutrients,

to pass through, with the aim of giving plant growth

stability. DermalGlas, DermaGlas-Acryl or a

combination solution of OptiWhite-H-Glas with

HelioVital® filter curtain (hanging) has been especially

designed for this purpose.

As a result, the growth of ornamental and crop plants

is – as outdoors – but without damage from direct sun

light or excess water, typically found in outdoors.

The taste and quality of crop plants noticeably

HelioVital® and Livestock - healthy light in buildings

The meat industry practices mainly intensive livestock

farming, which leads to diverse problems. Many

factors contribute to the questionable living conditions

of the animals, even if they only emerge at a second

glance. For example, natural sunlight, is often missing

in the sheds.

As a result, the animals lack natural vitamin D, leaving

them vulnerable to deficiency diseases, which in turn

requires treatment. The animals psyche also suffers,

leading to erratic behaviour, frequently ending with

injury. Chemical and hormonal substances, and

antibiotics are used as counter measures - which

ultimately end up in the food chain or in the

environment.

Natural light kills bacteria and keeps their population

HelioVital® – Finished products

OEM-Model

The HelioVital® GmbH produces semi-finished

products such as filter films, glass and acryl glass, but

doesn’t produce completed products.

Due to the variety of application and design

possibilities, HelioVital® offers all suitable final

product manufactures, the possibility of becoming

OEM partners, and the chance of integrating the

HelioVital® filter solution into their sun protection

products.

HelioVital® supports their OEM partners, with the

production and quality control of products with

HelioVital® filters. For example, with assistance during

production and courses etc., but also with special

measures i.e. marketing cooperation.

HelioVital® will, in closer cooperation with affiliated

OEM Partners, complete a product commissioned by

them. This happens, in order to further develop the

filters possibilities and to receive customer feedback.

The transportable HelioVital® tent is available as a

wellness product and also as an approved medical

product. (Medical product guideline 93/42/EWH class

1 Annex VII).

The market for products with HelioVital® filter films is

globally massive. As a medically engineered

product, a medical wellness product, as a life style

product and a building component.

The necessity of HelioVital®

Climate change, changes in living, working and

environmental conditions have already led to an

increase in specific diseases and complaints, which

can in part, lead to serious impacts on individual

performances and quality of life. A considerable

increase in diseases, such as skin cancer, allergies,

skin diseases, cardiac -and circulatory system
