Company Overview

Soon after Xerox’s patents expired in the mid 1970’s many Japanese manufacturers entered the office product industry distributing their products via an independent dealer network. Within five short years, most copiers and facsimile machines were sold through this independent dealer channel because they could be more responsive in their local markets and provide comparable products at a competitive price. A decade later, the office products industry experienced the beginning of another dramatic change in the distribution of its products. Several large holding conglomerates began acquiring and consolidating independent dealer organizations throughout the U.S. More recently the holding conglomerates themselves were acquired by direct manufacturers. Back in 1997, Jim McCarter and Ed Greco, who at the time were President and Vice President of Sales of Georgia operations for the largest of these holding conglomerates had a vision for a different kind of company. Automated Meter Readings: All meters are sent remotely by the

systems themselves ensuring total accuracy. Not only does this insure billing accuracy, it assists in the automated facilitation of consumable replenishment and scheduled Preventive Maintenance. Therefore, we can provide our clients with a single invoice broken down by unit, location, profit center etc. This invoice lists beginning and ending meter readings for total copies/prints made and expenditures in a spreadsheet format that can easily be downloaded for accounting and chargeback purposes.

Parts Availability: Each technician carries a full “car stock” of required

items. After each service call is completed your technician clears the call within our system and reports what items were used. Our system monitors parts usage and inventories constantly. DocuTeam incorporates 12 “parts drops” around metro Atlanta and North Georgia where our technicians’ inventory is replenished daily. In the unlikely event your technician does not have an item required, the item will be sent overnight and received by 10:00 am the following business day.
