Foreign trade turnover of the

Republic of Uzbekistan

(for January-August of 2018)

Dynamics of foreign trade

turnover, million US dollars

According to the results of January-August 2018, the

foreign trade turnover of the republic was 20,6 billion US

dollars and increased, in comparison with the same period of

the last year, by 18,5 %. The volume of exports amounted to

8,6 billion US dollars (growth rate 4,4 %), the volume of

imports 12,0 billion US dollars (growth rate 31,2 %). The

balance of foreign trade with a minus of 3,4 billion US dollars.

As a result, an increase in the production of products

that replaced imported goods and the diversification of the

structure of industry, significant changes in the structure of

exports have been achieved.

monthly export-import of goods for January-August of

2018 (million US dollars)

The order of the states that have the largest share in the

republic's turnover has remained unchanged for eight months

of 2018, as it was in the seven months of this year.

As a result of the measures taken by the government of

the republic to strengthen cooperation with the CIS countries

and comprehensive support for foreign trade, the share of CIS

countries in foreign trade turnover in January-August 2018

amounted to 38,8 %, compared to the analogical period, the

growth rate of foreign trade turnover amounted to 38,6 %.

The share of other countries in foreign trade turnover in

January-August 2017 was 66,8 %. In the current year, the

foreign trade turnover with them decreased by 5,6 % and

amounted to 61,2 %.

The volume of exports in January-August 2018

amounted to 8,6 billion US dollars (growth rate 4,4 %). The

share of goods in the composition of exports reached 76,9 %,

energy and oil products 20,4 %, food products 8,6 %, chemical

products and products thereof 7,2 %.

The volume of export services for January-August 2018

amounted to 1981,3 million US dollars, or 23,1 % of total

exports, and increased compared to the same period last year

by 23,0 %.

As part of the export of services, the main share is

occupied by transport services, tourism, as well as

telecommunications, information, computer and financial

services.

China and Russia occupy the largest share in the export

of goods and services of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The

share of these countries in total exports is 36,5 %.

The composition of exported goods to China and Russia

includes a group of energy carriers and petroleum products,

chemical products and products from it, as well as food

products.

The volume of exports of fruit and vegetable products

amounted to more than 776,7 thousand tonnes. and reached

586.3 million US dollars (growth rate 60,0 %)

Out of the structure of export of fruits and vegetables,

vegetables, more than 487,7 thousand tonnes were exported.

(physical growth 2,1 times) in the amount of 218,8 million US

dollars, fruits and berries 204,5 thousand tons. (physical

growth of 123,3 %) in the amount of 289,6 million US dollars

(money growth compared to the same period last year was 59,

% and 77,4 % respectively).

Export of textile

products

For January-August of 2018, the volume of exports of

textile products amounted to 870,4 million US dollars and

increased compared to the same period in 2017 by 15,6 %,

which is 10,1 % of total exports. Of the structure of exports of

textile products, the main share is occupied by cotton yarn

(57,5 %), ready knitted and garments (22,6 %). Since the

beginning of the year, more than 305 types of goods have

been exported to 54 countries.

amounted to 12.0 billion US dollars (growth rate – 31,2 %). In

the import structure, machinery and equipment (40,1 %),

chemical products and products (13,4 %), and foodstuffs (9,1

The volume of imports of services amounted to 1467.6

million US dollars, or 12.2% of total imports and compared to

the same period last year increased by 26.3%.

In the structure of import of services, the main share is

occupied by transport services, tourism services, as well as

telecommunications, information, computer and construction

services.

In January-August 2018, more than 153 types of goods

and services were imported to the republic.

5 large partner countries (Russian Federation, People's

Republic of China, Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan, and

Turkey) account for 61,2 % of the total volume of imports,

which makes 7359,2 million US dollars.

period of 2018 in August the import was more than in the

remaining months. In August, the number of imported goods

increased by 243,7 million US dollars, compared to July, to

1654,8 million US dollars.
