Startup Village is a key initiative of the Skolkovo Foundation – a non-profit set up to create an ecosystem of innovation in Russia and integrate it into the global innovation process. Startup Village brings together startup communities from across Russia and neighboring countries.

STARTUP VILLAGE

This is achieved with the help of the Russian Startup Tour. The Skolkovo team seeks out pock-ets of talent from around the country and brings the best budding entrepreneurs to Moscow for the Startup Village. Previous years have shown this two-pronged approach to be quite effective. Some of Skolkovo’s most successful startups have come from outside the big cities.

Few events can unlock the potential in Russia’s startup community in the way that Startup Village can.

“STARTUP VILLAGE HAS DONE IMPORTANT

WORK BY BRINGING TOGETHER STARTUPS

FROM ALL OVER RUSSIA AND INVESTORS AND

MANAGERS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD“

“THERE ARE MANY TALENTED RESEARCHERS IN RUSSIA, AND THEIR IDEAS AND

TECHNOLOGIES MUST NOT BE ALLOWED TO SAIL OUT OF THE COUNTRY, BUT MUST

BE TRANSFORMED INTO PRODUCTS AND ONLY THEN FIND THEIR CUSTOMERS IN THE

RUSSIAN AND GLOBAL MARKETS. THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE WITHOUT THE DEVELOPMENT OF

TECHNOLOGICAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP, WHICH BRIDGES SCIENCE AND BUSINESS. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY DO AT SKOLKOVO, IN

PARTICULAR THROUGH EVENTS SUCH AS THE STARTUP VILLAGE, WHERE EVERYONE WHO IS ALREADY A PART OF THE EMERGING RUSSIAN

INNOVATION COMMUNITY CAN MEET AT A SINGLE VENUE“

THE STARTUP VILLAGE IS UNLIKE ANY OTHER STARTUP CONFERENCE IN THE WORLD, AND IS THE ONLY CONFERENCE OF THIS SCALE IN RUSSIA

Year after year, the Skolkovo team seeks to create an indelible impression on the visitors of the Startup Village. Our main goal when we are building the site is to create a relaxed atmosphere that best fosters communication among all participants. The open-air startup conference is staged at the site of the future Skolkovo City. The idea is that every visitor can judge the progress of Russia’s first innovation center with their open eyes.
