This is a legal agreement (the "Agreement") between Celsys Inc.("Celsys") and you (the "User"), covering your use of the Software.You must read the Agreement before using the Software. By installing the Software, you are agreeing tobe bound by the terms of this Agreement. If you do not agree to theterms of this Agreement, you should not use or install the Software.

If you do not agree to the terms of this Agreement, you may returnthe Software within 30 days to the place where you obtained it for arefund. Upon refund, the Software package must be in its originalcondition with the proper receipt. You may not return the Softwareif the Software package is incomplete or without proper receipt.

The "Software" in this Agreement means the software program, itsCD-ROM, demonstration data, driver utility, etc.

1. PERMITTED USES AND RESTRICTIONS.

1.1 The User may use the program on a single computer at a time.(Using the Software on more than one computer at a time is prohib-ited.)1.2 The Software may not be installed on a media accessible over aserver or network. 1.3 The User may not make copies of the program other than forbackup purpose.

2. TITLE

This Software (including its copies) is the intellectual property ofCelsys. The Software and its data structure, design and code areconfidential information on the business of Celsys. It is protected by Japan and international copyright lawsand treaties. You have only the limited rights granted by thislicense. Any backup copy must include all copyright information contained on the original and must be boundby Permitted Uses and Restrictions. The User may not modify,translate, reverse engineer, decompile and disassemble theSoftware or try to explicate the source code by any means.

The Software manual and documentation, in printing or in electron-ic format, are also the intellectual property of Celsys and may not beduplicated, published or quoted. The User may not print more than one copy of the electronic documen-tation.

This Agreement does not grant the title of the Software. TheSoftware is licensed, not sold.

3. TRANSFER AND RESALE

3.1 The User may not rent, lease, loan, let use the Software and itsmanual to any third party regardless of long term or short term,with or without charge. The User may transfer the license to a third party with permission of Celsys underthe following conditions.

(1) The User already registered the Software under his/her ownname.(2) The User may transfer the Software and license to another partyif the other party agrees to accept all terms and conditions of thisAgreement.(3) The User must transfer the Software and all its previous versions(older versions, upgrade versions or additional versions) to thethird party.(4) The User must agree or prove that all backup copies bedestroyed.

3.2 The Software and its manual may not be sold, distributed, dupli-cated or sublicensed to any third party.3.3 The User may not use any hardware or software that disablesthe protect key (dongle).

4. PROTECT KEY (DONGLE)

If the dongle is lost during shipment, the User shall contact Celsysor its reseller immediately. If the dongle is lost by the User, it cannotbe reissued.

5. TERMINATION

The license will terminate automatically if the User discontinuesusing the Software, or transfers the Software and the license, or failsto comply with the limitations described herein. Upon termination,the User must destroy all copies of the Software and accompanyingdocumentation.

6. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTY

6.1 The Software is provided "AS IS" and without guarantee offuture updates for additional features or improving performance.6.2 Celsys only warrant the proper installation of the Software forregistered users within 60 days of purchase, including the accompa-nying documentation.6.3 Except 6.2, Celsys makes no warranty of any kind and Celsysand its resellers expressly disclaim all warranties and/or conditions,express or implied, including, but not limited to, the implied war-ranties and/or conditions of merchantability or satisfactory qualityand fitness for a particular purpose and noninfringement of thirdparty rights. Celsys does not warrant that the functions contained in theSoftware will meet the User's requirements, or that the operation ofthe Software will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that defects inthe Software will be corrected.

Furthermore, Celsys and its resellers do not warrant any naturaldisasters such as fire, earthquake and flood or make any representa-tions regarding the use or the results of the use of the Software or related documentation in terms of theircorrectness, accuracy, reliability, or otherwise.

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY.

Under no circumstances, including negligence, shall Celsys and itsresellers be liable for any incidental, special, indirect or consequen-tial damages arising out of or relating to this license.

8. CONTROLLING LAWAND SEVERABILITY.

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of Japan. If for anyreason a court of competent jurisdiction finds any provision of theAgreement, or portion thereof, to be unenforceable, that provisionof the Agreement shall be enforced to the maximum extent permis-sible so as to affect the intent of the parties, and the remainder ofthis Agreement shall continue in full force and effect.

The User may not modify the Agreement under any circumstances.

9. OBSERVATION OF CONDITIONS

If Celsys or its representative requests the User to show prove ofproper use of the Software and proper compilation of the conditionsin this Agreement, the User agrees to provide written prove within 30 days.

10. MISCELLANEOUS

The User should submit the registration card or register online.Celsys only provides the Software upgrades, support and limitedwarranty to its registered users. The Software upgrades and sup-port fees are determined solely by Celsys.

"SCSI Direct Control" is not applied.Mac OS X is only applicable to "TWAIN Control" as a control method of scanner. "TWAIN","SCSI DirectControl" cannot be used.For confirmation of support of scanners which were released before release of Ver5.3, access RETAS!PROwebsite.

"SCSI Direct Control"This is the way to control scanner directly which is connected to SCSI interface not that TraceMan is helped by"TWAIN Driver" etc.It is recommendable to use "TWAIN Connection" or "TWAIN" in the case of scanner which "TWAIN Driver" isprepared but not "SCSI Connection" .In the case other than "TWAIN" or "TWAIN Control" is selected (※) at "Edit"->"Preference"->"Scanner", "SCSIDirect Control" will be used automatically.Note: In the case one of these among "EPSON A4 Scanner","EPSON A3 Scanner" and "HP ScanJet" is selected.Scanners which were released after release of TraceMan Ver.5.3 cannot do controls by "SCSI Direct Control". Itis required to scan by "TWAIN" or "TWAIN Control".

For scanners which were released before publication of Ver.5.3., please refer to RETAS!PRO website.

Note: Even if it is connected using SCSI interface, a part of functions such as ADF compliance, automatic dis-tribution of continuous scanning images are not available when controlling it through TWAIN. For SCSI con-nection, SCSI interface purity made by Adaptec, Inc. and SDPI driver (Windows only) are required.

Scanner Control MethodThese three of "TWAIN","TWAIN Control",and "SCSI Direct Control" are prepared as a scanner controlmethod.Note: See "Edit"->"Preference"->"Scanner"

*What about "TWAIN"?"TWAIN" is a standard to control input-output devices such as scanners. This is consist of "TWAIN Driver"which manufacturer of scanner provides and "TWAIN supported Application Software". If application sidecomplies with TWAIN, in principle, it is possible to use it regardless of the model of the scanner.

However, by compatibility between "TWAIN Driver" and application software, or by change of specificationof "TWAIN Driver", it might be not possible to use it even if it is "TWAIN" supported scanner. Before purchas-ing a scanner(s), please notice whether it is operation confirmed model or not for TraceMan. For informationconcerning operation confirmation of scanner, please refer to RETAS!PRO website.

*What is the difference between "TWAIN" and "TWAIN Control" as amethod controlling scanner?At "Preference" dialogue in TraceMan (v5.2.5 or later), two type of "TWAIN" and "TWAIN Control" are pre-pared as a scanner control method using "TWAIN Driver" produced by scanner manufacturer. ("TWAINControl" only for Mac OS X)Note: See "Edit"->"Preference"->"Scanner".Having been supported so far is"TWAIN", while newly added since TraceMan Ver5.2.5 is "TWAIN Control".

"TWAIN""TWAIN" is available at all scanner which TWAIN is supported regardless of the machine model, but when"TWAIN..." is executed, TraceMan leaves all the controls to the scanner to the "TWAIN Driver" side after-wards after calling the "TWAIN Driver".

Therefore, this means who do scanner controls by "TWAIN" is not TraceMan but "TWAIN Driver".As a result, user interface of during scanning by "TWAIN" is provided by "TWAIN Driver", "Pre-scanningPalette" that is the user interface of original TraceMan cannot be used.

Note: When controlling the scanner by "TWAIN" or "TWAIN Control", a part of functions such as ADF com-pliance, automatic distribution and continuous scanning image are not available.

"TWAIN Control"Under "TWAIN Control", TraceMan operates scanner by sending commands which the scanner required via"TWAIN Driver". Therefore, under "TWAIN Control", who do scanner control is TraceMan itself and TWAINdriver just mediate between TraceMan and a scanner. As a result, under "TWAIN Control", TWAIN support-ed scanner can be used using "Prescan Palette" and "Scan Palette" as usual.

Note: When controlling a scanner by "TWAIN" or "TWAIN Control", a part of functions such as ADF compli-ance, automatic distribution of and continuous scanning image are not available.

Installing ASPI(Windows only)For PC/AT compatibles, installing ASPI (SCSI Driver) is required to use SCSI device (Scanner, DDR etc.).Among each application of RETAS!PRO, only when using "TraceMan" and "CoreRETAS", please install ASPIdriver in advance.

RETAS!PRO only supports a combination of SCSI card manufactured by Adaptec, Inc. and genuine AdaptecASPI driver.In the case using SCSI cards which is not applied to above requirement and ASPI compatible driver manufac-tured by third parties, these are possibility not to be used in RETAS!PRO.

When installing Windows 98, 98SE, or Windows Me, ASPI driver is installed automatically, but this ASPI dri-ver is old version one (Ver1.0) which bugs are reported. (as of May.2005)

If using old version of ASPI Ver1.0, each application of RETAS!PRO won't operate correctly.Please always use the ASPI driver.

ASPI driver is attached to the product when purchasing SCSI card of Adaptec basically.

Installing HASP Driver Windows Version(QuickChecker Only)

(1) Inserting CD-ROM

Insert RETAS!PRO application CD-ROM into your computer.

Double-click a installer "hdd32.exe" at "HASP Driver" in "HaspDriver" folder. Then the dialogue of theinstaller appears in order of 1-4.

Notice

Create a special folder for "RETAS!PRO" in HDD.There is not any limitation about folder location or folder name however, it will be convenient to create a spe-cial folder for RETAS!PRO and install them.

Drag a folder of software ("TraceMan","PaintMan","CoreRETAS","RenderDog",and "QuickChecker") whichyou need to install then copy whole dragged folder.

(4) Installing TWAIN Source Manager

When using TraceMan on Mac OS 8/9, please install "TWAIN Source Manager".

(8) Setup of MonitorBefore operating RETAS!PRO, make setup of monitor.RETAS!PRO treats full color image, so full color display is recommendable. Non-full color display is availableupon operation however in this case slight difference of colors cannot be confirmed.

Windows VersionTo change display color, use "Control Panel"->"Display Properties".

Double-click a "Display" icon, then the following window appears.Select "Settings" using a tab.

Example: "Windows XP Professional version"

Contents indicated at "Settings" is slight differ among each OS. Select 1.67m color (24bit) using popup menuwhich switches a number of display color.

(7)How to Fix A DongleIMPORTANT

Please do not insert a dongle into USB port until installing HASP dri-ver (driver to make the dongle recognized) and restarting OS.(See "5. Installing HASP Driver")

To use RETAS!PRO, a hardware dongle (HASP) must be fixed.Before fixing a dongle, quit all working application then quit system and power off the CPU unit.

Notice

・Do not install and detach during powering on the computer.When installing and detaching the dongle with there a power supply, the dongle etc. might be damaged.

・The dongle is weak to static electricity, so do not remove the dongle as much as possible once installed it,and do not leave it in a dry place and do not touch it in winter time as much as possible.

・When the dongle had broken and cannot launch software, please contact your dealer.・Serial number is attached on the dongle. Always keep this number which is required for user support and

repairing of the dongle.

(9) Setup of Memory (Mac OS 8/9 only) Before launcing RETAS!PRO, set memory size.

(1) Click an icon in Finder.

(2) Use "Get Info"->"Memory" at "File" menu.

(3) Change "Preferred Size" at "Memory" in the information dialogue to the memory size that prefers to beallocated.

(4) The size of the memory that should be allocated changes depending on the size of the image used. At least30MB(30000K), if possible allocate 90MB or more.

At "About This Computer..." on apple menu, you can confirm current memory condition of application.

Mac OS Version

To change a display color, use "Monitor" or "Monitor & Sound" in "Control Panel" folder in a system folder(Mac OS 8/9), or "System Preference"->"Display" (Mac OS X).

Example: In the case of Mac OS X, when click "Display", then the following window appears.

On the display color list, the number of color which is able to use on the current screen is shown. Choose"1.67m" and click it. This means the monitor is applied to full color display.There are some cases possible not to select full color display according to model of your machine, capacity ofmounted VRAM, inserted video card. For this case, increase VRAM or purchase a video card which full colordisplay is available.

Q: An Error Message:"The field for 'Cancellation' was not secured dueto memory shortage. ", "The command was not executed due to mem-ory shortage. " appears.A: Is other application software launched at same time?

When the application software that needs much memories is launched besides RETAS!PRO, once quit alllaunched application software (including RETAS!PRO), then restart RETAS!PRO.A: Is the enough memory allocated to the RETAS!PRO?

For Mac OS 8/9 Version, execute "About this Macintosh..." and confirm memory condition. Increase memoryfor RETAS!PRO if the unused block of memory left a lot.If the unused block is few left and cannot allocate to memory for RETAS!PRO, it is recommendable to increasemore memory for it. In few memory capacity, it is possible not only to limited these size of treated images, buttroubles of an unexpected application occur.As an emergency measure, using "virtual memory" to increase allocated memory temporary can be takenhowever the operation speed decreased extremely. It is recommended to increase memory.

Q: I am trying to load the image file, but it won't be displayed at opendialogue.An image file created by other than RETAS!PRO won't be loaded.

A: Please check the image format.RETAS!PRO only can load formats specified at "(13) list Of File Format".Please check the image file you are going to load.For Windows, it is considerable that extension is not meet to actual image format.For Mac OS 8/9, you can confirm the file type using utility software like FireBuddy.

Q: When loading a PICT file saved by Photoshop for Macintosh, noiseoccurs on the image file.A: Is not the PICT file compressed by JPEG?Graphic software other than RETAS!PRO provide JPEG compression function using QuickTime as option forsaving.Do not use this option to avoid the compression noise.Photoshop 5.0 or later prepares "NONE" as option for PICT compression however this means "NONE" of dete-rioration in image quality and actually compression that doesn't ruin the image quality is taken automatically,so even if you chose "NONE", the file size will be small.

Q: The image cannot be saved into disc.A: Is the empty capacity for disc enough?If the empty capacity is extremely decreased, it causes not to save the images, and moreover the OS becomes

unstable. Always keep at least 1GB of the empty capacity.

Q: I thrown the file away by mistake.A: File utility might be possible to recover it.If you have deleted the file by your mistake, disc tools such as "Norton Utilities" of Symantec Corporation

might rescure these files.

However, this not mean that recover perfectly, therefore please note about it when deleting file.If the file has overwritten by mistake, there is no way to rescure it.To avoid the data missing caused by disc's troubles, it is recommended to backup them frequently.

(12)TroubleshootingsGeneralQ: RETAS!PRO won't start.A: Is your system requirements correct?To start RETAS!PRO, the CPU, the version of OS, the capacity of memory and so on of your computer mustmeet the condition of use.

A: There is a possibility that software is broken.There is a possibility that application itself is broken. Please reinstall the software.

Q: RETAS!PRO freezes. It doesn't recover even if reinstalling it.A: Have you installed software which is not standard one?There is some bad compatibility with software in the "Device Driver", "Extentions" and the "Control Panel", etcother than being prepared in OS by standard.Recover your OS to the condition of immediately after the installation.

A: There is a possibility the preference file is broken.The preference file might be broken, so try to erase the preference file by the following process.Even if the preference file is thrown away, only each setting of software is recovered at default and the soft-ware is not given any influence.

◇Method to recover the initialization into a condition at shipment

Mac OS 8/9Immediately after double-clicking an icon of each software (start each software), keep pushing the shift key.Or,(1) Open "System Folder"->"Preferences".(2) Put the "Preferences" file into the trash box.

Mac OS XImmediately after double-clicking an icon of each software (start each software), keep pushing the shift key.Or,(1) Open "/~user name/Library/Preferences/"folder.(2) Put the Preferences file into the trash box.

WindowsImmediately after double-clicking an icon of each software (start each software), keep pushing the shift key.

Q: Display color is something strange.A:Is the number of colors of monitor set correctly?Check about number of color whether the display is set to full-color.For settings of monitor, please refer to the mentioned section in this book.

A: Display is not adjusted. By the individual difference of the display,the displayed color externals might beconsiderably different. Adjust brightness, contrast etc., and set it as a normal color is displayed. See attached manual of the productfor display adjustment.

TraceManQ: TraceMan does not find scanner.

The scanner connected with USB, IEEE1394 etc.A: Is your model of scanner the operation confirmed model?Only the operation confirmed model is applied for TraceMan.Even if TWAIN supported model, it is possible not that non-confirmed model does not work.Non TWAIN supported model which is not confirmed operation cannot use for TraceMan.

A:Is your scanner OS-supported model?We do not guarantee scanning operation for TraceMan in OS which the scanner manufacturers has not sup-ported it.

A: Has "TWAIN Driver" been installed?Has genuine TWAIN driver provided by scanner manufacturer installed correctly?Driver installation is required to be installed by Administrator's account in general.After installation, some scanner requires to restart OS. See installation guide for TWAIN driver.Each manufacturer may provide latest TWAIN driver after you purchased the scanner. It is recommended touse latest version as possible. You may download the latest version of driver through manufacturer's website.

A:Does "Preference" for TraceMan correct?When using scanner on TraceMan, you are required to direct TraceMan how to control the scanner.It is recommended to set "TWAIN Control" for "Scanner Connection" at "Preference/Scanner" dialogue whenusing TWAIN supported scanner.(For Mac OS X, only "TWAIN Connection" is to be selected.)After setting "Scanner Connection", select TWAIN driver which is supported for connected scanner using"Scan"->"TWAIN Supported Device".

A:Is the scanner connected to USB port or IEEE1394 port?Please connect the scanner to USB port or IEEE1394 port on CPU unit. Increased USB port of IEEE1394 port byextension card manufactured by the third party, it is possible not to operate correctly for some problems suchas a combination.

Scanners connected by SCSIA:Is your SCSI card supported to TraceMan? TraceMan does not guarantee the operation by other than Adaptec-made SCSI card.

A: Are you using genuine Adaptec-made ASPI?( for Windows only)It is not integrated the compatibility of ASPI among third party-made ASPI and Adaptec-made pure ASPI.It is recommended to use Adaptec-made pure ASPI.The CD-ROM for installation is attached at when you purchased the Adaptec's SCSI card.

Q: When I forwarded the image from Mac OS 8/9 to Windows, theimage won't open.A: Is the checkbox "Add File Extension" of "Preferences..." checked on?Windows requires extensions to distinguish the file format while Mac OS 8/9 automatically distinguishes thefile format by "File Type". In principle, you have to give the extensions to them on Windows.If no special reason, check on the "Add Extension". For the case no extensions added to the image file andWindows cannot load it, add an extension on Finder or Explorer so that the file can be loaded.A: Are you not using a certain utility software when forwarding the image file from Mac to Windows?This phenomenon occurs especially on PICT file. A certain utility software that makes format disc for Macloaded into Windows has been reported that the layer information of the image of RETAS has broken.

How to avoid this phenomenon:a: Use image format not depending on OS, for instance TGA format.b: Forward the file through LAN using OS as the file server such as Windows 2000 server, XP etc.

Q: I am using the Windows version. Palette looks something strange.

"An example of strange view"

A: Are you not using "Large Font"?When "Large" Font at "Appearance" of "Display Properties" is set, the palette is displayed incorrectly.This phenomenon occurs because RETAS!PRO series has not been supported to "Large Font". Please set"Normal" Font to avoid this phenomenon.

A:Did you log in upon Administrator name when installing ASPI driver?You shoud log in upon a name of Administrator when installing driver or application software for Windows2000, or Windows XP.

A: Is the virtual memory turned on? (Mac OS 8/9)For HP scanners, turn off the virtual memory function.

A: Is your SCSI card not Adaptec 2940U2W?TraceMan does not guarantee the combination between Adaptec 2940U2W and HP scanners.

A: Is SCSI ID not overlapped? If the ID is overlapped with other SCSI device one, it does not work. Please check the ID again.

A:Are you using a product(s) complied with the SCSI standard for the SCSI cable and the terminator?Among cables which is old or extremely cheap, there are products not met with the SCSI standard. Pleasereconfirm whether it meets with the SCSI standard.

A:Is your scanner model for domestic use?Among International models, there are some models that the specification is different even the model numberis same. In this case, TraceMan does not recognize scanner.

Q: When using scanner, an error message "Scanner does not respondwhen pre-scanning" appears.A: Did you not use a button on scanner to start scanning?This problem occurs for software which make apply to use this button.Turn off this button function.

Q: Fill tool stops on the way with beep sound.A: If "Overflow Check" of "Fill" at "Paint" Palette is checked, the paint leakage is detected. Please turn off thischeck.

Q: The lines have connected where I am not expecting to.A:The Join Line Command decides upon the specific condition. See the "Join Line Tool" in "Commands &Tools" at PaintMan user's manual.

Q: When I erased the gray line by "eraser" tool, the gradation is put atborder between colors.A: PaintMan deletes the border line (R:0 G:0 B:0) to compose the gray line nicely. So, it may sometimes grada-tion put at border.In general, the gray line is on the border line, so this gradation does not be problem. If you prefer to wipe thisgradation, replace the other color except pure black (R:0 G:0 B:0).

Q: Preview for "Auto Fill" Palette is too small.A:Is the image file saved by applications of TraceMan Ver 2 or former, or PaintMan Ver 3 or former?Please resave it by PaintMan Ver5.X.

Q: When loading a file saved by PaintMan Ver5.x in Paintman Ver.3,the coloring layer images are shown by main line at all.A:Files saved by PaintMan Ver.5.x or Ver.4.x cannot be loaded by paintMan Ver.3 or former.If saved by PaintMan Ver.5.x, use PaintMan Ver.5.x for it.

CoreRETASQ: The imported cels are not loaded when trying to load the x-sheet.An Alert Dialogue "Unable to find the images in Celbank" appears.A: Have you kept the notices about a scene folder system?RETAS!PRO manages files per folder according to the scene folder system.

A: Did you shift, rename or delete the file after importing the images into celbank?If shifting, renaming, or deleting images after creating an x-sheet, the link between the x-sheet and images cut.The "Rename" includes such as adding an extention to file.

A:Did you relocate the x-sheet after creating the x-sheet?This also causes to cut the link between the x-sheet and images.

A: Did you import images out of the scene folder which x-sheet is located?This is not recommended to import images out of the scene folder or images in other volume (Disc). Troublesmay happen.

Place all images which the x-sheet needed into the scene folder and x-sheet too.

Even among TraceMan supported scanners, there are some models which the ADF is not supported.TraceMan only supports ADF among specified scanners only. For details of supported scanner, see this bookor RETAS!PRO website.When the scanner is attached through TWAIN, TraceMan does not recognize ADF.

Q: When I tried to open the image traced by TraceMan at PaintMan,the layer information disappeared.A: Have you opened the image by certain software other than PaintMan? The other software cannot treat thelayer structure correctly.

ATTENTIONThis is the same case when the image traced by TraceMan is opened by TraceMan again.For details, see "About Layer Structure Of TraceMan" or "Data Exchange Between Other Software" in"Technical Information".

Q: What is the difference between a three pass scanning and a onepass scanning?A: A three pass scanning is called high-accuracy however take more time because RGB is scanned by head-shift three times. While a one pass scanning is called that the accuracy decreases however is scanned quicklybecause RGB is scanned by head shift one time.Please testify the scanning speed and scanning accuracy on your scanner and choose the suitable settings foryou.

PaintManQ: Is painting the line layer possible?A: It is not recommended. It can be possible but the line protecting function might be frozen and might disap-pear the line by mistake.This is the same case even when there is the gray layer.

Q: The line(line layer) disappeared when I used an eraser tools on theline ( A line protection function does not work).A: If you connect the lines with "Color Layer" when you connect a line that cuts on the way, the line is writtenon "line layer" side.Switch to "line layer" and connect the line if you use the "Line Protection Function".

Q: Fill tool and pencil tool does not work when drawing.A: Are there any color other than pure white (R:255 G:255 B:255) on the line layer?All color except white (R:255 G:255 B:255) in images on a line layer will be target to the line protection func-tion.Please check whether the background color is set to white (R:255 G:255 B:255) when deleting the image byEraser Tool.

A: Is the drawing color not pure black (R:0 G:0 B:0)?The pure black (R:0 G:0 B:0) is treated as a "border line" when composing the gray layer and display it, so thiscolor (R:0 G:0 B:0) disappears.

If you need to use the black color at the image with gray layer, use a color (R:1 G:1 B:1) for instance.

Q: Outline does not become clear even performing smoothing.A: Has "Smoothing" of "Rendering Setup..." been set correctly?If change the scale or put focus treatment to mono-traced cel, an interpolation between pixels is put. The

"Smoothing" cannot effect to such images. Therefore, when smoothing these mono-traced images, do smooth-ing it first, then change the scale or put focus treatment.In general, this problem does not occur if set "Rendering Settings..." into "Auto". If there are no reason, set"Auto".

Q: When exported,white parts of BG (Background) painted in black.A:Are you using transparent color of white (RGB=255,255,255) in BG image?Change the BG layer transparency into "Opaque".

Q: The image does not filtered even if using the Effect Layer.A: Is the "Layer Switch" of "Effect Filter"not turned off?A: Is the "parameter" and "Setup items" of "Effect layer" set correct?Among "Effect Layer", there are which "Parameter" and "Setup Items" needed.For detail of setup, please refer to your plugin filter manual.

Q: The "Backlight" doesn't shine well.A: Mask that shades off part where light has extended is required for masking images which is used at"Backlight" filter."Backlight 2" does not need to shade the image, but the light expansion can be controlled only filter settings.

Q: It doesn't shine well though I tried to make background shining bythe Backlight.

A: When an image(s) is put previous the "Backlight" filter set image, the Backlight does not effect to abovelayer nothing.Therefore even if you make the Backlight strong, it not seems to be shined.When you need to treat the Backlight for BG, create mask for a part without character first, then createBacklight mask based on it and import as a top layer.

Q: The image doesn't get out of focus even if put the "Focus" filterput.A: Did you change the scale?If you made a change the scale value on camera work, this phenomenon occurs.For details, see "About Focus" in "Commands and Tools" at CoreRETAS user's manual.

Q: Motion Blur does not effect.A:Motion Blur does not effect when there are no moves in the camera.

Q: When images exported by CoreRETAS is opend by Photoshop, thecolors seem to be slightly changed.A: Are you using Photoshop 5.0.2 or later?Photoshop 5.0 converts the color space into RGB when images opened, so it may be changed color slightly.Photoshop 5.0.2 has been solved this problem. Please update your Photoshop into Ver5.0.2.

Q: The parameter of the focus value etc. cannot input the numericalvalue.I input a parameter into "Data Cel", but the value is not indicated.

A:Did you input the cel number?If the cel number is not input on x-sheet, you cannot input parameter.Cels which the cel number is entered is indicated with light gray color.

Q: When pasting, the other parameters follows this pasting.A:Are you using "Selective Paste..."?"Cut""Copy" commands to copy all parameters which "Data Cel" has into buffer.If "paste" is commanded, all parameters follow it.When you need to paste parameter which you need only, Select "Edit"->"Selective paste...".

Q: The value of x-sheet have not been inbetweened.A:Have keyframes been set?If there are only on keyframe or no frame in the selected area, auto-inbetweening is not performed.

Q: I put some keyframes to make the move more accurately, but thekeyframe position shift and inbetweening cannot be done neatly.A: Is it not checked one that "Inbetweeing"->"Setup"->"Match Position And Speed On Stage"? For details, see "About Inbetweening" in "Commands and Tools" at CoreRETAS user's manual.

Q: I increased the parameter value of random input to make a largeblurring, but it couldn't.A: The input parameter in "Random Input..." only specifies a maximum value of it, so it does not mean thatthe blur become large as the input value.

Q: When overlapping the layer, the background seems to be transpar-ent.A: Layer transparency means an composite ratio of object layer against composite result to the former layer.For instance, when overlapping layer A and B and set layer A's transparency of 100% into 0% while its reverseof B, this phenomenon happens. In this case, turn 0% transparency of layer B to 100% only.

Q: When I changed cel's scale and do camera work, it has becomestrange movement.A: Make inbetweening settings same and set inbetweening again. This phenomenon is easily happen when adifferent speed has been set when inbetweening cel's scale and position.

Q: I inbetweened TU/TB by "Uniformed Speed", but the actual speedseems to be accelerated.A: TU/TB in CoreRETAS has done by increasing and decreasing of scale parameter. This scale parametershows a ratio of one side of cel or camera. Therefore if inbetweening by "Uniformed" Speed, the area of the celor camera changes by square.

Q: The imported cel size cannot be installed in a Stage.A: Change the stage size at "Edit"->"Preference..." to in the frame.The Stage size is limited depending on memory (accurately, a memory can be allocated to CoreRETAS).To treat large images, increase memory and allocate a large memory for CoreRETAS as possible.
