NEW OUTING LOTTERY SYSTEM

Effective immediately, to fairly accommodate the mass

influx of resident sign ups for trips and the new safety

protocol for the bus, we are implementing a lottery

system for outings that have WAIT LISTS. Please

continue to use the reservation call line and you must

sign up in advance. The day prior to the outing at 3pm,

a list will be posted at the Front Desk with the names

of the residents that have been selected by the random

lottery system. It is imperative that when calling the

reservation line to say if you have a walker, wheelchair,

electric scooter or wheel chair. The reason being is that

since there are a certain amount of mobility devices

that can be taken on the bus safely, there will be three

different categories for the lottery system to select

from. We believe this will not only make the trips

safer, but give everyone a fair chance.

Imagine spending an afternoon up close and personal

with the majestic giraffes as they roam in their natural

habitat? At Giraffe Ranch & Safari in Dade City, we'll

experience first hand, the lives of giraffe and other

species from around the world living under huge live

oaks and open grasslands in a setting that is right out

of Africa. We'll be conducted through pristine live oak

hammocks and ephemeral wetlands in comfort and

safety with spectacular close-up encounters.

Cost is $75 and includes the tour and Lunch at

Limoges. There are other encounters you can sign up

for as well for an additional cost. If you're interested in

joining us on this unique and memorable trip, please

see Community Life by June 3rd to sign up for this

outing. We can take a maximum of 17 Independent

Living residents, but families can meet us there if

interested!

Out and AboutHop on the bus and join us as we explore different

restaurants and exciting places around the area. If

you'd like to attend any of these outings, please call

812-3904 or sign up in the Outings Book. Outings that

have waiting lists will be placed into the Lottery

System. If using your room phone to call, you must dial

(9) before dialing any outside line.

Oh, what a beautiful May! We welcomed the month on our

new waterfront patio for a Kentucky Derby happy hour,

celebrated our mothers with a special Two Chefs as well as a

tea party. Not to mention, making tiaras and all butter cookies

and watching the royal wedding was highly entertaining! A

group of us braved the potential weather and picnicked

before it got too hot on the waterside of Fort Desoto and took

a mystery trip to the Imagine Museum. We celebrated all of

our nurses as the superhero's they truly are and later

remembered and celebrated the lives of those that served and

those that were unable to come home on Memorial Day,

including a trip to the Bay Pines Memorial Day Ceremony.

May has been good to us, we have high hopes June will, too!

Want to see more pictures the Community Life department takes at each event? Make sure to check out our

Fountains website and The Fountains at Boca Ciega Bay FaceBook page for weekly updates on all of the

exciting activities we have going on! See a picture you like? Stop by the Community Life office and we'd happy

to print a copy for you and your family.
