STAROOT VACANCIES

Editor’s pick of the week:

JOHANNESBURG – Members of a basketball de-velopment programme in the North West got to ride with a special star this week, in the form of Hol-lywood superstar Kevin Hart.

The comedian won the “Harts” of the kids of the NBA Africa Junior programme in Phokeng in the North West.Hart, an avid basketball fan who is in the country on a new stand-up comedy tour, visited Phokeng to show his support for the NBA’s outreach efforts in South Africa.“What I see today is kids not only being active, but kids being positive and happy. And when you’re be-ing active, it puts a smile on your face, so why not do it as much as you possibly can?” said Hart.Hart was welcomed by the royal Bafokeng family who anointed him with a South African name.“My new name is Mpho and what it means is a Gift. Basically, giving the gift of laughter and the present… I take things like that very seriously and I’m humbled by it, so you guys when I’m here, call me Mpho,” he said.

Hart’s work ethic has translated into more than 30 pictures to his name with massive feature films such as “About Last Night,” “Think Like A Man 1 and 2,” “The Wedding Ringer” and “Get Hard.” His comedy tours, movies, television hit series and primetime TV appearances in “Comedy Central’s Roast of Justin Bieber,” “Saturday Night Live” and hosting the MTV

Video Music Awards in 2012, has turned Kevin Hart into a household name.Kevin says the most common question he gets asked after hit movies and sold-out football stadium performances is, “What now?” hence the name of this tour. The tour has been dubbed, “The highest-grossing comedy tour of all time” by Forbes Maga-zine, putting the comedian in a league all of his own.
