Mission

The Drozana-class heavy

outpost is designed as a more rugged

frontier base than the older K-class

outposts, specifically with contested

border areas in mind.

Features

Vis-à-vis the older K-class, the Drozana-class

possesses multiple and more powerful phaser

banks, providing it with more firepower than even a

Constitution-class starship. The Drozana also comes

equipped with photon torpedo launchers,

correcting the lack of long-range firepower of the

older K-class outposts. Its PFF 2a deflector shields

are top-of-the-line, providing a strong defense

against all but the most powerful capital ships of

hostile powers such as the Klingon Empire.

The interior of the station’s docking pylons

consists mainly of storage and industrial fabrication

facilities. Large and well-furnished recreational and

guest quarters are located in the central hub.

Background

The Drozana-class is a powerful outpost

and prior to the introduction of the watchtower-

class starbases was the primary space stations

guarding the frontiers of Federation space. The

Drozana fared significantly better than its predecessor, the K-

class stations, and saw extensive deployment along the

Klingon neutral zone. The station’s primary drawback was the

large number of crew required to man its many tactical

systems.
