Purpose of the connector

The purpose of the connector is to transfer files from AEM to STAR’s TMS, called CLM (Corporate Language Management), and back again. It shall also provide status information along the way.

The present version of the Connector supports AEM 6.4, but will also work for AEM 6.2. Instructions are provided for both versions below.

Prerequisites

You need access to a CLM system. Please contact your local STAR office for information.

The connector needs to be installed according to the installation instructions, complete with customer ID-token, API-url and the necessary workflows.

Click Create and select Project

Exactly which workflows you and your provider of CLM services have agreed on should have been documented when you installed the connector.

Advanced data is

▲ Type of translation

▲ Translation provider

▲ Translation Provider Credential (Workflow)

Finish by clicking Create and then click on Open

We now have a project with target languages selected

For each target language Click on the -… Add the source files

Navigate and select required document, finish by clicking Select

Click Create Language Copy

Repeat until all languages have files. Now start translation for each language:

The status Committed for translation stays until CLM reports back that something has happened. Note: Due to the Adobe Translation Framework the final status is Ready for review, even if the job reviewed and completed on the CLM-side.

When the project has started in CLM the status in AEM changes

Depending on your company routines you may decide to set the status of the received files to Accepted when they are returned from CLM, provided that all review, DTP, etc. has been done in the CLM workflow. If this is not the case you should of course proceed through review as per your normal process. If the job is finished when it is returned from AEM you should request a change in the translation framework from Adobe support.

Click Create and select Create Project

Click Next in the top right corner of the screen. Fill in the Basic data in the dialogue.

Add data to the Advanced page

Select source and target language.

Note: Language codes should be set up as described in the installation instructions.

▲ Select Translation Method: Human Translation

▲ Select Translation Provider: star.

▲ Select Cloud config. This is the same as selecting one of the available workflows. Exactly which workflows you and your provider of CLM services have agreed on should have been documented when you installed the connector.

Click Create and then Open

Click Translation Job

Click Add

Select the file or files to translate

Click Create Language Copy

Go back to the project level (second line from the top)

Project now has status Submitted. The statuses will change as the project progresses. Note: Due to the Adobe Translation Framework the final status is Ready for review, even if the job reviewed and completed on the CLM-side.

Notes

When the project has been started in AEM the following things occur:

▲ CLM-side receives the package and checks it.

o If it contains files that can be handled automatically the project is auto started.

o If no quote is wanted the project goes directly to translation.

o If a quote is required it will be produced and made available or sent as an email according to the agreed setup. The project is then released by the PM in CLM.

o If it contains files that cannot be processed (pictures PDFs etc. the STAR PM is notified and actions are taken.

o If it contains more than one file type, the STAR PM is notified and actions are taken.

o If it contains files that need pre-work, the STAR PM is notified and actions are taken to get the project ready for CLM.

Project finish

The statuses are transported to AEM when the project is queried/opened.

When the project is finished, the zip from CLM is placed in the correct directory in AEM, by CLM.

Connection and security

A user logged into AEM with the rights to start a project is defined in AEM with a username and email address. Security aspects are managed by AEM.

On the STAR side, the customer ID-token plus secure keys are used to verify the connection and encrypted transfer (HTTPS/SFTP) to protect the data.
