The National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics

NCVHS is the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) statutory public advisory body on health data, statistics and national health information policy

Population-based data to enable communities to identify disparities and become learning systems for health. Vital and health statistics policy.

Emerging issues related to health information privacy, confidentiality and security and data stewardship.

industry with a degree of certainty in the timing and sequence of the adoption or implementation of new or revised standards and operating rules as required under the HIPAA and other legislation.

• NCVHS documents since 2009 have referenced lack of predictability around adoption path and timing of new/updated Admin Simp regulations

• With 20 years of HIPAA and several version migrations under our belts, can we identify a more efficient path for versioning?

• Current status and vulnerabilities in vital statistics• Federal, state and local perspectives• Emerging best practices and potential solutions to
