CHAPTER 1

GENERAL

1.0 OBJECTIVE

Presently the maintenance records kept by coaching depots vary considerably from

depot to depot. Hence there is a need of having standard proforma, registers of

records which are maintained in the coaching depots.

2.0 METHODLOGY ADOPTED

Field study was conducted and data collected from the following coaching depots.

Coaching depot, Secundrabad, SCR

Coaching depot, BCT, WR

Coaching depot, Kurla, CR

Coaching depot, NDLS, NR

Coaching depot, BBQ, SR

Coaching depot, Wadi Bundar, CR

A seminar was organised at CAMTECH, Gwalior on 22/11/01 and 23/11/01

and feedback was taken from the participants in the seminar from different coaching

depots.

3.0 OBSERVATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS.

After studying the formats from different coaching depots and consultations held in

seminar, Schedule forms, Maintenance registers, and Monthly statement formats have

been prepared. In chapter 2 the monthly statement (PCDO) with the relevant

annexures is given. In chapter 3 the format of registers to be maintained in the depot

is given.
