FIRST HOLY EUCHARIST 2016

‘’I myself am the living bread come down from heaven. If anyone eats this bread he shall live

forever; the bread I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.”

John 6:51

Dear Parents;

Welcome to this first meeting for the First Holy Eucharist. This most Holy Sacrament is the

center of our Catholic Faith. It is a reminder of the price Jesus paid for our sins at Calvary.

Truly it is a Sacrament of perfect love bringing us salvation and uniting us as the children of

God.

Parent Participation & Commitment

Our entire Catechetical staff is committed to you and your children as we share our faith in

Jesus with them. It is truly a wonderful experience to share our faith with the children but it can

only be nurtured by you, the parent.

Parents: it is your Christian responsibility to take the lead role in nurturing the faith of your

children. The children must experience the love and teachings of Jesus through you. We as

Catechists and Religious leaders are here to help in any way we can and will continue to point

you to Christ. Some questions to reflect on in prayer:

MASS ATTENDANCE & CLASS ATTENDANCE

Mass attendance & class attendance are crucial as we move towards the reception of the

Sacrament. No child will be permitted to receive the sacraments of First Holy Eucharist and

Reconciliation if Mass attendance and class attendance are poor.

If mass attendance and class attendance are poor, according to our Archdiocesan policy,

that student’s preparation for first communion must be re-evaluated and the child may be

delayed from receiving the sacrament until the following year. It is important that the

mass attendance cards be handed in each Sunday at mass.

1. Do I try to live a Christians Life?

2. Do I try to live a Christian life in front of my children?

3. Do I take time out to pray?

4. Do I pray with my children?

5. Do I attend Mass regularly?

6. Do I attend Mass with my children?

7. Do I take time out to read & reflect on the scriptures?

8. Do I read the Bible with my children?

9. Do I review my child’s lessons with them?

10. Do I go over assignments?

11. Am I willing to become even more involved in the spiritual life of my children?

12. Do I take time to get to know and communicate with my child’s Catechist (teacher)?

Estimados Padres:

Bienvenidos a la primera reunión para la Primera Comunión. Este Sacramento Santo es el

centro de nuestra fe Católica. Nos recuerda el precio que Jesús pago por nuestros pecados en el

Calvario. Sinceramente, es el sacramento de un amor tan perfecto dándonos salvación y uniéndonos

como hijos de Dios.

Participación y Compromiso de los Padres

Todo nuestro personal catequético está dedicado a usted y a sus niños mientras

compartimos nuestra fe en Jesús con ellos. En verdad es una experiencia maravillosa compartir

nuestra fe con los niños pero puede ser reforzado solamente por ustedes, los padres.

Padres: Es su responsabilidad Cristiana tomar el papel principal en el refuerzo de la fe de sus

niños. Los niños deben sentir la experiencia del amor y las enseñanzas de Jesús a través de usted.

Nosotros como catequistas y líderes religiosos, estamos aquí para ayudar en la manera que sea

posible y seguiremos guiándolo hacia Cristo. En el momento de rezar, refleje sobre unas preguntas:

ASISTIR REGULARMENTE A MISA Y A CLASES

La asistencia a misa y a clases es crucial durante el proceso de la recepción del sacramento.

No se permitirá que ningún niño reciba el sacramento de la Santa Eucaristía y Reconciliación si

la asistencia a misa y clases es pobre.

Si la asistencia a misa al igual que la asistencia a clases es pobre, acorde con la póliza de

nuestra Archidiócesis, la participación de ese estudiante(es) durante la Primera Comunión

TIENE que ser re-evaluada y puede que no se le permita recibir El Sacramento hasta el

próximo año. Es muy importante que las tarjetas de asistencia a misa se entreguen en

cada misa los domingos.

2. ¿Trato de vivir una vida Cristiana delante de mis hijos?

3. ¿Trato de tomar tiempo para orar?

4. ¿Trato de Orar con mis hijos?

5. ¿Asisto a Misa los domingos regularmente?

6. ¿Asisto a Misa con mis hijos?

7. ¿Tomo el tiempo para leer y reflexionar sobre las escrituras?

8. ¿Leo la Biblia con mis hijos?

9. ¿Repaso las lecciones con mis hijos?

10. ¿Repaso las tareas de mis hijos?

11. ¿Estoy dispuesto a involucrarme más en la vida espiritual de mis hijos?

12. ¿Me tomo el tiempo para conocer y comunicarme con la catequista de mi hijo?

CELEBRATE THE SACRAMENTS

OF JESUS CHRIST

Sacraments are special signs of God’s Love and Grace.

Jesus gave us the Sacraments to help us grow in love and grace throughout our lives.

There are seven sacraments.

The sacraments of initiation are Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist.

Baptism and Confirmation are received only once.

Catholics are encouraged to receive the sacrament of Holy Eucharist frequently.

Holy Eucharist is the sacrament of the Body and Blood of Christ.

We receive Christ in the Eucharist which gives us spiritual nourishment.

In the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist we also receive forgiveness of our sins.

If there is a serious sin, the Sacrament of Penance (Reconciliation) must be received before

partaking of the Eucharist.

DE JESUCRISTO

Los Sacramentos son signos especiales del amor y la gracia de Dios.

Jesús nos dio los sacramentos para ayudarnos a crecer en amor y gracia durante nuestras vidas.

Hay siete sacramentos:

Los Sacramentos de la iniciación Cristiana son: Bautismo, Confirmación, y Eucaristía.

Bautismo y Confirmación se reciben solamente una vez.

A los Católicos se le recomienda recibir el Sacramento de la Eucaristía frecuentemente.

La Eucaristía es el Sacramento del Cuerpo y las Sangra de Cristo.

Cada vez que Recibimos a Cristo en la Eucaristía, recibimos alimento Espiritual.

En el sacramento de la Eucaristía, también recibimos el perdón de los pecados.

Si hay un pecado muy serio, el sacramento de Confesión (Reconciliación) se tiene que recibir

antes de toma la Eucaristía.

Reconciliation Retreat.

This special day of Prayer will be filled with activities for

our first communicants. On this day, the children will

receive the Sacrament of Penance. This day is mandatory.

Parents are expected to participate with their child

Our day will begin at 10:00a.m. sharp and end at 2:30p.m.

Please set this date aside on your calendars.

THIS IS OBLIGATORY FOR THE CHILD AND

AT LEAST ONE OF THE PARENTS

de Reconciliación.

Este día especial de oración estará lleno de actividades para

los niños que recibirán la Primera Comunión. En este día, los

niños recibirán el Sacramento de la Reconciliación por lo

tanto la asistencia es obligatoria.

Se espera que los padres participen con sus hijos.

Nuestro día comenzará a las 10:00am y terminará a las

2:30pm Por favor apunte esta fecha en su calendario.
