Sunday’s Readings…

S OLOMON, King in suc-

cession to his great fa-

ther David, is offered anything he wants by

God. He chooses not riches, nor fame, nor

military might, but wisdom. For him, this

is the greatest gift of all because in order to

govern the Israelite people well, he seeks to

know the difference between good and

evil. All else follows from this gift of wis-

dom. “I don’t know what to do for the

best!” is what people say so often in so

many difficult situations. Wisdom tells us

exactly what to do for the best! In the Gos-

pel, Jesus talks

about the value of

the Kingdom of

God. Being part of

that is worth more

than anything else,

for it contains all

we’ll ever need—

not riches or fame

but the true wis-

dom of knowing

God face to face.

FINANCE…Thank you for all that you give in time, money or effort. First Collection Not known at time of printing

ARRANGING A WEDDING

Congratulations on your engage-ment! Please speak to one of the clergy in the first place to make ar-rangements for your wedding. You will need a meeting with the Parish Priest to go through all that needs to be done. About six months’ notice at least is desirable: but it’s never too soon.

ARRANGING A BAPTISM

(CHRISTENING) for BABIES & YOUNG CHILDREN

Congratulations on the birth of your child! Baptism is arranged by ap-pointment. It usually happens at 12.15 p.m. on a Sunday or at either Sunday Mass. Parents should collect a form after Sunday Mass. For the baptism of children over four and of adults see the parish priest.

MAKING YOUR CONFESSION

Confession, the sacrament of recon-ciliation, is available on Saturday mornings 9.40 a.m.-10.20 a.m., on Sundays before 6 p.m. Mass and by arrangement with the parish priest. Our God is a God of mercy!

ADORING THE LORD EXPOSITION

There are regular opportunities each week to pray before the Blessed Sac-rament exposed on the altar. Satur-days from 9.30 a.m. (following Mass) and Mondays 7.00 p.m.
