Once again we begin the season of advent to spiritually prepare ourselves for the celebration of the nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ. We first begin to prepare for the celebration of Christ’s birth into the world. We will then celebrate the nativity of Christ not only in history but also and most especially His birth in our hearts. As we celebrate Christ’s first coming into the world we are also looking forward to the Second Coming at the end of this world. I challenge us all to focus on these three comings of Christ this Advent Season. Therefore, we need to prepare our minds and souls to celebrate and receive Christ worthily. I also encourage everyone to not only celebrate the coming of Christ during mass, but to bring the celebration into our homes. You can start out with the smallest of celebrations in your home by putting up the nativity sets to remind us of that blessed moment when “the Light from on High shone upon us”. As you and your family begin this journey you will draw closer to Jesus, which is after all our goal. I pray that everyone will begin to honor Our Lord and make homage to Him rather than focusing on the material things and consumerism that normally accompany this season. In closing it is my prayer that we truly prepare to celebrate advent and Christmas as a Catholic Christian family. I will continue to pray that we grow as one body, one family of unity in Jesus Christ. I also pray that at St Theresa’s we will be blessed with the necessary gifts to ensure the evangelization efforts for this season and countless seasons to come. May Jesus enlighten your hearts during this time and always , Fr. Fernando Molina Restrepo, Pastor.

Nuevamente empezamos la temporada de Adviento en la cual nos preparamos espiritualmente a nosotros mismos, para celebrar la natividad de nuestro Señor Jesús Cristo. Primero nos comenzamos a preparar para la celebración del nacimiento de Cristo en el mundo. Entonces celebraremos la primera venida de Cristo al mundo, no solo históricamente sino y muy especialmente Su nacimiento en nuestros corazones. Así como celebramos la primera venida de Cristo al mundo, también estamos esperando la Segunda Venida al final de este mundo. Yo los reto a que nos enfoquemos en estas tres venidas de Cristo en este tiempo de Adviento. Por lo tanto, necesitamos preparar nuestras mentes y nuestras almas para celebrar y recibir a Jesús dignamente. También los motivo a todos a que no solo celebren la venida de Cristo durante la Misa, sino que lleven la celebración a sus hogares. Puedes comenzar con una pequeña celebración en tu casa exponiendo un nacimiento, el cual nos recuerda el bendecido momento cuando “La Luz de lo Alto brilló sobre nosotros”. Con esta nueva jornada tú y tu familia se acercarán más a Jesús, que es después de todo, nuestra meta. Yo oro para que todos empiecen a honrar y rendirle homenaje a Nuestro Señor, en vez de enfocarse en las cosas materiales y el consumismo que usualmente acompaña esta temporada. Para terminar, es mi oración que nos preparemos verdaderamente para celebrar el adviento y la Navidad como una familia Católica Cristiana. Yo continuaré orando para que podamos crecer como un solo cuerpo y una sola familia unida en Jesús Cristo. También oraré para que en Santa Teresita seamos bendecidos con los recursos necesarios que nos aseguren el poder continuar con los esfuerzos de evangelización de esta temporada y muchas que están por venir. Butorac, Maria Stormont, Jena Lanham, or Mick Butorac by December 5 if you are interested in singing or being a greeter. We need adult helpers for decorating, clean up and hosting. We will rehearse on Sunday, December 12 at 6:30PM. We will also be decorating ornaments for “Catholics Returning Home” to be given

out at all Masses on Christmas.

FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT/PRIMER D OMINGO

The Advent season is here and with it the opportunity to grow deeper in your Love of God. We strongly encourage you to pray with your family during this season around the Advent Wreath. The Advent season lasts four weeks and it commences on the last Sunday in November. Let’s keep in our hearts the significance of this time of prayer and try to reflect on the evergreen leaves that symbolize hope, God’s eternal love for us which is represented by the circle for it has no end and no beginning, the four candles which symbolize the four weeks of Advent. The first candle is purple and represents Hope, the second candle is also purple and represents Peace, the third candle is rose color and represents Joy and the fourth candle is purple and represents Love. The schedule of prayers to follow each night as we light the candle(s) and pray around the Advent Wreath are listed below and consist of family advent readings meditating on God’s plan for Salvation.

El tiempo de Adviento esta aquí y con el llega la oportunidad de profundizar mas en el Amor de Dios. Nosotros los motivamos a orar en familia durante este tiempo alrededor de la Corona de Adviento. Como ya saben el tiempo de Adviento dura cuatro semanas, y este año comienza el ultimo Domingo de Noviembre. Mantengamos en nuestros corazones el significado de este tiempo de oración y tratemos de reflexionar en

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states: “On Sundays and other Holy Days of Obligation the

faithful are bound to participate in the Mass.”

The Immaculate Conception is a Holy Day of Obligation.

To fulfill your obligation you will need to attend Mass on: Tuesday, December 7 at 7:00PM or Wednesday, December 8 at 12:00 Noon or 7:00PM (Spanish).

Christmas Day is a Holy Day of Obligation.

This year Christmas falls on a Saturday. To fulfill your Christmas Day Obligation you will need to attend one of the following Masses:

Friday, December 24: 5:00PM Children Mass, 7:00PM Family Mass, 9:00PM Spanish Mass, 11:30PM Midnight Mass (Music begins at 10:45PM) or Saturday, December 25: 9:00AM or 11:00AM (Spanish).
