Dear Parents, Wasn’t the weather perfect for the Easter break? We hope everyone had a relaxing, safe holiday. If you were unable to make it to our Holy Week Liturgy before we closed last Thursday you certainly missed a beauty. Mrs Jones and Year 6 truly presented a magnificent liturgy. They certainly set the tone for Holy Week. Take a bow Year 6 and Mrs Jones. Thank you from all of us.

This was followed by the Easter Raffle organised by Mr Cant. Thank you Mr Cant for doing a marvelous job once again. The screams of delight were heard in our offices. Thank you parents for generous donations of Easter eggs and selling tickets. Thank you to Sarah Heckendorf, Hayley Atkins and the little Heckendorf and Atkins children for wrapping all the eggs.

Of course Easter wouldn’t be pretty special if it were not for all the services. A big thank you to Fathers Greg and Joshy for all their hard work over the Easter break in the beautiful services that were held.

Parent and Teacher Interviews Please don’t forget to attend the interviews this week—today and tomorrow 29th and 30th March. This is a good opportunity to hear first hand how your child is faring. Year 4 completed their interviews last week as Mrs O’Connor is on Long Service leave this week and next week.

you….listen carefully. Remember to pray, and let God take the burden of worry from

your heart. Accept that we each learn life’s lessons in our own way. A lot of people love you more than words can say.

Easter Liturgy Miss Daly and Year 3 are commencing this week with the Easter Liturgy at 9.00 a.m. Thank you Year 3 and Miss Daly for a beautiful liturgy. In the time line of 9 days we will have 3 liturgies—this is good as sometimes the real meaning of Easter seems to be forgotten. Have a week of love. Remember “ An idea not coupled with action will never get any bigger than the brain cell it occupied”. God be with you Yours sincerely

GRANDPARENTS DAY AND THANK YOU MORNING TEA

This is occurring on Friday 1st April at 10.00 a.m. with a Liturgy organised by Mrs Jo Taylor and Year 2. This is followed by a morning tea for our Grandies and a Thank you morning tea for our volunteers who faithfully come in each week to listen to children read etc. By all means if Grandies are unable to attend you are most welcome to come in. The children are allowed to take their grandies into the rooms. All the above should be over by 11.30 a.m. or 11.45 a.m. It is a very special time so please bring your Grandies and volunteers come in too.

School Cross Country Congratulations once again to McAuley who continued their domination of the school cross country event, making it five years in a row! The teams’ events: Moore won the nine years and under (Zac Gooch, Ruby Zell and Finn Macleod), ten years champs were McAuley (Ella Penman, Paddy Cant and Josh Schwager), 11 Years champion house was McAuley (Harvey Moore, Bree Zani and Alexis Perry) and the 12 years champion team was Moore (Millie Gooch, Brock Cameron and Alex Jones).

The individual champions were: Mia Penman, Zac Gooch, Ella Penman, Paddy Cant, Ned Jones, Bree Zani, Millie Gooch and Brock Cameron. The runner’s up and third place getters were: Ruby Zell, Millah Hutchins, Joe Edwards, Zac Mears,

Alicia Mears, Aimee Zell, Josh Schwager, Darby Amor, Alexis Perry, Emma Pobje, Harvey Moore, Will Ed-wards, Clare Amor, Alyssa Ellis, Jack Atkins and Bayley Hall Thanks to all staff who sat in the hot sun in the middle of an oval for well over an hour supervising the runners. Thanks also to those parents who were able to attend to show support. Diocesan (Coolah) Cross Country A note has been sent out to all students selected for the Diocesan Cross Country in Coolah (top four boys and girls in each of the age groups), this carnival will be held on Tuesday 3rd May (back-up 24th May). A reminder that the note is due back this week. Students going to Coolah are representing St Pius X at a Diocesan event so all students will need FULL

SPORTS UNIFORM (includes school hat). Incorrect uniform will result in a demerit, thank you parents we appreciate your support in this area. Students will need to bring on the day: tracksuit, drink bottle, sunscreen, recess and lunch (canteen will be op-erating on the day). If parents would like to take something to sit on it is advised as we will be situated on an oval with no seating. Polding Swimmers This Thursday we have four swimmers competing for the Dioceses of Bathurst at the Polding carnival in Sydney. The senior girls relay team of Millie Gooch, Merryn Chapman, Abby Jones and Clare Amor will be competing, whilst Merryn will be competing in two individual events (butterfly and freestyle). We wish the girls all the best and safe travels. School Uniform We have noticed an increase in students wearing incorrect uniform, especially on sports days. Mrs. Irwin and I will be conducting uniform checks over the up coming days and into next term so please make sure your child has / is wearing the correct uniform. Remember we have a school clothing pool which may have what you need. Greg Cant

Congratulations to year 6 students for their very prayerful interpretation of the events of Holy Week.

Thank you also to our wonderful singers, Symphony and Olivia, who added so much to the holiness of our

liturgy.

THE RESURRECTION

Today Year 3 carried on the most important celebration of the Church year with their presentation

of the Resurrection. Their reverence and participation was wonderful. Thank you, Miss Daly.

SENIOR CITIZENS

Friday is one of our school’s most important gatherings of the year when we honour our

grandparents and all senior citizens. Don’t forget we have a liturgy at 10.00 a.m. which will

be presented by Year 2 this year, followed by a morning tea. We look forward to seeing you

all here.

CONFIRMATION

Parents of Confirmation candidates don’t forget the parent information evening this Wednesday

night. Next weekend is the first enrolment weekend.

Library News Premier’s Reading Challenge

The students have been busily getting on with the PRC. The table below gives you a clear

idea of how many books the students need to read by August 19. Students in K-2 can in-

clude shared reading books in their tally. A full list of books for the PRC can be found on

the website: https://online.det.nsw.edu.au/prc/booklist/home.html

Students are being encouraged to borrow at least one book on the PRC list each week. Years 3-6 have all

been issued with a Personal Reading Log to record their books on, and should ask parents or carers to sign

and date books once read.
