A MESSAGE FROM FATHER PAT Dear St. Pius X Community,

Well, the rekey is finally becoming a reality. We have been asking for years for all those with keys to let us know so that we can plan this, and now that keys are changing Debbie’s phone is ringing off the hook. Remember the goal is good stewardship of our parish resources. We have great facili es and need to protect them. I am awoken at least once a week for an alarm. We check the cameras and find someone in the building. We have been lucky up to this point that nothing has been stolen or vandalized from doors being le open by someone we didn’t know was there and didn’t know we had to check behind them le a door open. Don’t get upset with Debbie. This is me, as Pastor, doing my best to protect what you all have built over the decades. Please don’t get upset with Debbie, come see me if you are not happy with how the rekey is going. This has been in the works for 1 year. Thanks to Gilbert at Quality Locksmith for making this work. Non staff will not have exterior door keys anymore. This protects us all. The access cards, or prox cards, enable us to track all who enter and if someone leaves and forgets to return the card or loses a card we can just deac vate them and not have to rekey. This investment will not only help to secure our facili es and keep us safer, but it will also save us significant amounts of money in the future. Thanks for your pa ence.

I wanted to emphasize again the point from last week’s homily. With true forgiveness comes peace and reconcilia-

on. If you are having issues and can’t get to this point or don’t see any progress, please come see either Fr. Cesar or myself. Life is too short to not be at peace or be working toward that.

School is back! YEAH! I love having school back and thanks to all those who worked so hard to get us to this point. We are growing, thanks to Cathy for all the tours and new families and Mindy and Jane for all you did this summer. Please look out for new parishioners as we have 40 plus new families. For the new families, please sign up to get name tags so that we can start learning your names. If you have any ques ons, please ask.

As a reminder to all, there are parish council members with the priests a er Mass to help with ques ons. Please feel free to engage them with any concerns or ques ons that you might have.

The ministry fair is coming up soon. With that our Steward-ship commi ee is mee ng now a few mes a month. Their purpose is to help develop a spirituality of stewardship at St. Pius X. It is a process that will take years. God created the world and le us as stewards. We are stewards of God’s Crea on of which St. Pius X is a part. As we cele-brate 61 years of service let us con nue working diligently “to restore all things in Christ.”

St. Pius X was the first in a line of popes that encouraged us to receive communion regularly. There are many people over 2nd grade coming up for a blessing and not to receive communion. Pope Francis also agrees we need frequent recep on. All but mortal sins are forgiven at the beginning of Mass, so please join us and use this sacrament as you work to do God’s will. If you are gluten free, tell the sacristan, we have gluten free hosts. If you are not receiving because you are not Catholic, come see us about RCIA. If there are issues in your life that you think prohibit you from receiving, come see me so that we can get it fixed.

A huge thank you to those that a end the 1:30 mass who painted our Church Bathrooms. Jeff Perez helped and does this professionally, call the office for his contact infor-ma on!

In Him,

Fr. Pat

FR. CESAR’S CORNER ALTAR FLOWERS

Hello Everyone! This past week we celebrated the Assump on. This coming Wednesday, the 22nd of August, the liturgical calendar rejoices the church with the very last mystery of the Blessed Mother: The Queenship of Mary. Pope Pius XII ins tuted this fes vity in 1954 four years later a er proclaiming the Dogma of the Assump on. In the Document called Ad Coeli Reginam the pope explains the reasons why he created this feast for the church. He says, among many other things, that Mary is the Queen because her Son is the King and as a consequence, Mary is the Queen. The pope went on to explain that this new feast of Mary in no way diminishes the power of Christ and his act of redemp on on the cross. By the contrary, it exalts God’s Mercy, since through a woman he wanted to be among us in Christ. Mary’s elec on and motherhood are necessary steps toward her glorifica on and exalta on as the Queen of heaven and earth. Our Lady of Fa ma said in one of her visits that at the end of a future me her Immaculate Heart will triumph. Was it going to be in this me or in the a ermath? We don’t know for sure, however she said it. When we recognize Mary as our Queen and Mother we are roo ng her queenship in the very center of the world where it is most needed. An act of service to Mary we can perform to commemorate her feast is to pray the Rosary or any other act of devo on. We pray for the Church in the United States as it faces new challenges as a consequence of the emerging despicable acts of the clergy in the past decades. We s ll stand for the very values that define our catholicity: going into the whole world and bap zing and teaching everything Jesus told us. Fr. Cesar
