Christmas. We were overwhelmed by

all the cards and presents - you were

so generous - your kindness is much

appreciated. We hope you all had a

wonderful Christmas and are not too

tired as we start 2016.

PROPOSED START DATES

FOR THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR -

The proposed starts dates for the new

school year for Year 1 and Year 2 is

Thursday 8th September

Reception classes will be phased in

as usual.

CLASS THEMES

Year 1’s theme for the beginning of this term is “The

Frozen Planet”, followed by “Space”.

Reception class are starting with “Celebrations” followed by

“Monsters”, “Transport” and “It’s not a box”.

The RE themes are “Christmas”, “Revelation”, “Lent” and “Holy Week”.

TENNIS CLUB

The second group of tennis

stars from Year 1 have started

their 6 week extra-curricular

tennis club. The club will resume in

the summer term when this group

have finished.

FOREST SCHOOLS

Group 3 (Year 1) have started Forest

Schools. Victoria, who runs the programme,

has sent us a short report and photos of

all the children who participated in the Autumn

term (they are in the children’s book bags - so be

sure to search). Many thanks to Victoria for

making it such a special experience for our

children.

Nativity

As you know our Nativity play was a lovely experience for the

children and us adults. The children were

wonderful, we were so proud of them and I

know you were too. It is

lovely to be able to create

these memories t oge t h e r

as we share our precious journey.

Santa Claus

As you may have heard, Santa Claus paid us a visit on the last day of term - to

squeals of delight all around (and that was just the teachers!) The children sang

their Christmas songs for him and all received a little present. We sent him away

with a nice bottle of wine to celebrate after a busy Christmas!

STEPs ROAD SAFETY TRAINING

Year 1 will be commencing the STEPs Road Safety programme organised and run by Bournemouth

Transport Dept. It’s free!! Lots of parents have already volunteered to help - many thanks - you are

wonderful! Extra volunteers would also be very welcome. Please contact the School Office if you are

able to help.

DIARY DATES

The Diary Dates for this term are below. You will see we are having a Book Fair in March

and three Parents Evenings during the week beginning 14th March. We are also

planning an Easter Egg Hunt just before the Easter Holidays. Class assemblies start this

term too - busy, busy!

Triple P

We are hosting sessions for our school and

other schools in relation to supporting

parents in managing children’s behaviour

- which can sometimes be a challenge.

The course starts on Thursday 25th

February and runs for 5 weeks - it will be

in the Newman Centre (the little house

near the school gate). If you would like to

ask more about it please feel free to

contact me.

Sainsburys Active Kids is back for

2016. It is being launched on

27th January - please be sure to send

in your vouchers to exchange for

some more lovely play equipment for

the children.
