ST. PETER’S RELIGIOUS EDUCATION MISSION
We believe our role as religious educators is to assist parents, first and foremost, in help-ing their children develop a close personal relationship with Our Lord, the Church, and the community of St. Peter’s Catholic Parish. Our goal is to nurture and enhance a parent’s modeling and example of Christ’s message of forgiveness, compassion, and mercy through prayer, Church teaching, and a devotion to the Divine presence in the Eucharist. Our commitment to the parents is to provide every tool necessary for our young people to grow in their journey of faith as lifelong learners and devoted followers of Jesus Christ through a deeper understanding of the Church’s mor-al values and teachings.

WEEKLY REFLECTION THIRTIETH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME– B
The story of Bartimaeus gives us a good example of persistence even in the face of criticism. It was not just his faith that restored his sight. He made the effort to go where Jesus was supposed to be. It was also his determination to keep calling out to Jesus and asking for his mercy. He was certainly not being “PC” by yelling that way; but, he persisted any-way. He also had no illusion that he had “earned” a favor from Jesus. He simply asked for mercy. He was humble. When asked what he wanted, he did not give a long list of things. He asked for healing - for his sight to be restored. Consider your own behavior. Do you take action to put your-self in the best possible situation to achieve your goal? Do you keep try-ing, even when others tell you to quit? Do you feel “entitled” or humble? What is it you are really seeking?
