RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS The Religious Education Program is open from 9:30AM to 2:30PM, Monday thru Thursday and Monday thru Wednesday 6:00PM – 8:30PM. Please call 429-8824 for more information. There are two Communion meetings this month. One is next Tuesday, November 14th in English, and the other is on Tuesday, November 28th in Spanish. Both meetings are at 7PM in the school gym. There will be an important packet given to parents or guardians that attend. There was a Confirmation meeting on Monday, October 16th and Monday October 23rd. Both meetings were very important. A Confirmation packet was given out that is due on December 4th. Please go the REP office for more information. Packets will not be given to students. There is a retreat for Saturday students who are in 3rd and 4th grades on November 18th from 9:30AM to 11:00AM in the school gym. Please continue praying for our students. We all need to pray for each other.

. THANKSGIVING TURKEY DONATIONS On Saturday, November 18th, our Food Pantry will be giving out bags of food for Thanksgiving. We welcome donations of turkeys, but our storage space for them is limited. If you plan to donate a frozen turkey, please call our rectory office before you bring it in order to make sure that we have space to store it in our freezer. St. Peter and St. Mary parishioners, who qualify at Shop Rite (Garnerville) for a free turkey ($400.00 in purchases), should get the turkey and bring it to the register. The cashier will process the transaction and give the parishioner a receipt indicating that they received a free turkey. The parishioner should then take the turkey along with their receipt and bring it to the courtesy counter. ShopRite will store the turkeys for pickup by food pantry staff early Saturday morning on 11/18/16. Thank you for your generous support.

ANNUAL PARISH BLOOD DRIVE

Hosted by St. Peter and St. Mary Parish, Tuesday, November 21st, 2017. From 4:00 to 8:30PM, in the parish hall underneath the church. Please bring ID with photo or signature. Eat well and drink fluids before you donate. Walk-ins always welcome.

MASS ON THANKSGIVING DAY Mass on Thanksgiving Day (November 23rd) will be

celebrated at 9AM. We invited you to bring a food item to church on that day. This food will be distributed later in the holiday season.

GOD’S TYM FOR HIGH SCHOOL TEENS

God’s TYM our parish group for teens in high school (grades 9 through 12) meets each Sunday. It begins with Mass at 5PM followed by dinner and a meeting. All high school teens are welcome!!

PROGRAMA DE EDUCACION RELIGIOSA El Programa de Catecismo estará abierto los lunes hasta jueves de 9:30AM hasta las 2:30PM y de noche los lunes a miércoles de 6PM hasta las 8:30PM. Por favor llame al 429 -8824 para más información. Hay dos reuniones de comunión este mes. Uno es el próximo martes, noviembre 14 en inglés, y el otro es el martes, 28 de noviembre en español. Las dos reuniones son a las 7:00PM en el gimnasio de la escuela. Habrá un paquete importante dado a los padres o guardián que atienden la reunión. Hubo una reunión de la confirmación el lunes, 16 de octubre y el lunes, 23 de octubre. Las dos reuniones fueron muy importantes. Los paquetes no se darán a los estudiantes. Hay un retiro para los estudiantes que vienen los sábados para los grados 3º y 4º el día 18 de Noviembre de 9:30AM hasta las 11:00AM en el gimnasio de la escuela. DONACIONES DE PAVOS PARA EL DÍA DE ACCIÓN DE GRACIAS

El sábado 18º de noviembre, nuestra Despensa de Alimentos estará distribuyendo fundas de comida para el Día de Acción de Gracias. Estaremos muy agradecidos de las donaciones de pavos, pero el espacio con que contamos para guardarlos es limitado. Si está planeando donar un pavo congelado, favor de llamar a la oficina de la rectoría antes de traerlo, para así asegurarnos, que tendremos el espacio para guardarlo en el congelador. Los feligreses que califican para recibir un pavo gratis de ShopRite, Garnerville ($400.00 en compras), deben buscar su pavo y llevarlo a la registradora. La registradora procesará la transacción y dará al feligrés un recibo indicando que recibió un pavo gratis. El feligrés deberá tomar el pavo, junto al recibo que le han dado, y llevarlo al mostrador de cortesía. ShopRite guardara los pavos para ser recogidos por la Despensa de Alimentos, el sábado temprano en la mañana, del 18º de noviembre. Gracias por su apoyo generoso.

CAMPAÑA PARROQUIAL DE DONACIÓN DE SANGRE

El martes, día 21º de Noviembre, de 4:00 hasta las 8:30PM la Iglesia San Pedro conducirá su campaña de donación de sangre en el salón parroquial debajo de la iglesia. Por favor traiga una identificación con su foto o con su firma. Coma bien y tome mucho líquido antes de su donación.

MISA DEL DÍA DE ACCIÓN DE GRACIAS La Misa del Día de Acción de Gracias (23º de Noviembre) será celebrada a las 9 AM. Le invitamos a traer un artículo de comida a la iglesia ese día. Este artículo será distribuido mas adelante durante los días de fiesta venideros.

GOD’S TYM PARA ADOLESCENTES DE ESCUELA SECUNDARIA

GOD’S TYM es nuestro grupo parroquial de adolescentes en la escuela secundaria (grados 9 a 12) se reúne cada Domingo. Comienza con la celebración de la Eucaristía a las 5 PM seguido con una cena y una reunión. ¡Todos los adolescentes de escuela secundaria están bienvenidos!

THE COMMUNION OF SAINTS After confessing "the holy catholic Church," the Apostles' Creed adds "the communion of saints." In a certain sense this article is a further explanation of the preceding: "What is the Church if not the assembly of all the saints?" The communion of saints is the Church. "Since all the faithful form one body, the good of each is communicated to the others.... We must therefore believe that there exists a communion of goods in the Church. But the most important member is Christ, since he is the head.... Therefore, the riches of Christ are communicated to all the members, through the sacraments." "As this Church is governed by one and the same Spirit, all the goods she has received necessarily become a common fund." The term "communion of saints" therefore has two closely linked meanings: communion in holy things (sancta)" and "among holy persons (sancti). "Sancta sancti's! ("God's holy gifts for God's holy people") is proclaimed by the celebrant in most Eastern liturgies during the elevation of the holy Gifts before the distribution of communion. the faithful (sancta) are fed by Christ's holy body and blood (sancta) to grow in the communion of the Holy Spirit (koinonia) and to communicate it to the world.

I. COMMUNION IN SPIRITUAL GOODS In the primitive community of Jerusalem, the disciples "devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of the bread and the prayers." Communion in the faith. the faith of the faithful is the faith of the Church, received from the apostles. Faith is a treasure of life which is enriched by being shared. Communion of the sacraments. "The fruit of all the sacraments belongs to all the faithful. All the sacraments are sacred links uniting the faithful with one another and binding them to Jesus Christ, and above all Baptism, the gate by which we enter into the Church. the communion of saints must be understood as the communion of the sacraments.... the name 'communion' can be applied to all of them, for they unite us to God.... But this name is better suited to the Eucharist than to any other, because it is primarily the Eucharist that brings this communion about." Communion of charisms. Within the communion of the Church, the Holy Spirit "distributes special graces among the faithful of every rank" for the building up of the Church. Now, "to each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good."

LA COMUNIÓN DE LOS SANTOS Después de haber confesado "la Santa Iglesia católica", el Símbolo de los Apóstoles añade "la comunión de los santos". Este artículo es, en cierto modo, una explicitación del anterior: "¿Qué es la Iglesia, sino la asamblea de todos los santos?" (San Nicetas de Remesiana, Instructio ad competentes 5, 3, [Explanatio Symboli, 10]: PL 52, 871). La comunión de los santos es precisamente la Iglesia. "Como todos los creyentes forman un solo cuerpo, el bien de los unos se comunica a los otros [...] Es, pues, necesario creer [...] que existe una comunión de bienes en la Iglesia. Pero el miembro más importante es Cristo, ya que Él es la cabeza [...] Así, el bien de Cristo es comunicado [...] a todos los miembros, y esta comunicación se hace por los sacramentos de la Iglesia" (Santo Tomás de Aquino, In Symbolum Apostolorum scilicet «Credo in Deum» expositio, 13). "Como esta Iglesia está gobernada por un solo y mismo Espíritu, todos los bienes que ella ha recibido forman necesariamente un fondo común" (Catecismo Romano, 1, 10, 24). La expresión "comunión de los santos" tiene, pues, dos significados estrechamente relacionados: "comunión en las cosas santas [sancta]" y "comunión entre las personas santas [sancti]". Sancta sanctis [lo que es santo para los que son santos] es lo que se proclama por el celebrante en la mayoría de las liturgias orientales en el momento de la elevación de los santos dones antes de la distribución de la comunión. Los fieles (sancti) se alimentan con el cuerpo y la sangre de Cristo (sancta) para crecer en la comunión con el Espíritu Santo (Koinônia) y comunicarla al mundo. I. Los Padres indican en el Símbolo que debe entenderse que la comunión de los santos es la comunión de los sacramentos [...]. El nombre de comunión puede aplicarse a todos los sacramentos puesto que todos ellos nos unen a Dios [...]. Pero este nombre es más propio de la Eucaristía que de cualquier otro, porque ella es la que lleva esta comunión a su culminación” (Catecismo Romano, 1, 10, 24). La comunión de los carismas: En la comunión de la Iglesia, el Espíritu Santo "reparte gracias especiales entre los fieles" para la edificación de la Iglesia (LG 12). Pues bien, "a cada cual se le otorga la manifestación del Espíritu para provecho común" (1 Co 12, 7).
