Stewardship

Increased Offertory Program

You may remember last year, St. Paul participated in an Increased Offertory program conducted by Our Sunday Visitor. This program asks every member of St. Pauls to reflect upon their financial commitment to the par-ish. This effort was well received and helped us create realistic budgets to fund our many programs and minis-tries. Once again, we will be participating in this offertory reflection and this week you will receive a brochure detailing the program our parish will be participating in over the next few weeks. This informative brochure is in-tended to communicate the financial needs of our parish and each members call toward stewardship. Commit-ment Sunday for this Program is September 16 and 17. We encourage all parishioners to spend time in prayer and discussion with your family reflecting on the parish’s needs and your current level of giving. We look forward to seeing all of our parishioners at Mass next weekend for this very important Commitment Sunday. If you have any questions regarding the Increased Offertory Program please feel free to contact the Office of Stewardship & Development or email [email protected].

The heart of St. Paul is, and always been, the parishioners who share their time, talent, and treasure to add to the life of the parish. We simply could not offer the programs and services we provide without YOU. Thank you so much for showing your love for the Lord through service and sacrifice. Listed below are just a few of the ways you can help support St. Paul in addition to the Increased Offertory Pro-gram mentioned above. As always, we are here to support YOU. Thank you for supporting US.

Mass Changes This Fall! Football Season is upon us, and based on the traffic patterns, traffic accidents, and blood-pressure-raising traffic delays experienced by our parishioners and visitors to St. Paul, we have chosen to NOT have a 4:30pm Saturday Mass when there is a home football game scheduled. This change will only affect a few Saturdays: September 23 October 14 November 4 & 18 Please mark your calendars! We’ll have this informa-tion on our website, www.hoosiercatholic.org and we’ll put periodic reminders in the bulletin, too.

If Saturday Masses are your preferred Mass time, you are always welcome to attend St. Charles’ 4pm Satur-day Mass on Home Football Game days.

This is such a rewarding ministry!

Cara and Leonie, our Sponsor Couple Ministry lead-ers, are interested in recruiting some new sponsor couples to join our already-awesome team!

All new and existing Sponsor Couples are warmly in-vited and encouraged to join us on Monday, October 30, from 6-9pm for training and fellowship. 40 Day for Life “Speak up for those who cannot

speak for themselves”—Prov. 31:8 In 2004, four individuals active in the pro-life move-ment took a leap of faith and began a 24-hour vigil outside of their local Planned Parenthood. Abortions dropped by 28% during this time of prayer and fasting. The momentum from this one-time vigil created an explosion into the most powerful and effective pro-life crusade this world has ever seen. 40 Days for Life is an international campaign involving more than 750,000 participants worldwide who are committed to converting hearts and saving lives through prayer and sacrifice. Please join us for an hour of silent prayer during our local 40 Days for Life campaign:

Haiti Update

Don and Kathy Pomeroy, leaders of the EducateHaiti Mission team, are planning two trips to Haiti in 2018: The first one will take place from January 23-30 2018 and the second one will be March 6-13, 2018.

The goal of the January trip is to help dedicate the new preschool and build a playground. There is room for four more people if you are called to mission work!

The March trip includes FOUR St. Paul parishioners: Ruth and John Simon, Christina Shelley, and Sharon Mayell. (Room for one more!)

Please keep our missioners in your prayers, and please, especially keep our brothers and sisters in Haiti in your hearts and prayers as they recover from yet another natural disaster.

Peace in the Mourning

A Christ-Focused Widows’ Retreat

September 22-24

Presented by Jennifer Trapuzzano

Jennifer Trapuzzano found herself to be a widow less than a year after being married and just a few weeks before their daughter was to be born. As a faithful Catholic, Jennifer clung to Christ, who has carried her through many dark times. She learned that “even in the darkest times, there’s always a light.” While grieving has never been easy, she found un-derstanding, companionship and comfort by relating with other widows. Her hope is that through “Peace in the Mourning”, faithful widows can come together for hope and healing as they remember their beloved spouses.

Cost: $150 shared room/$200 private room Location: Benedict Inn, 1302 Southern Ave., Beech Grove, IN Who can attend: Widows of all ages and back-grounds. While the retreat will include elements of our Catholic faith, widows of all faiths are welcome to join on this journey of hope and healing.
