The Shamrock, or “seamroy,” symbolizes the rebirth of spring.

It was later adopted as a symbol of Irish nationalism.

The Leprechaun, or “lobaircin” means “small-bodied fellow”.

They were responsible for mending the shoes of other fairies in Celtic folktales.
