Start and Re-start of the Game The 1 st and 2 nd halves of the game starts with THROW- OFF after referee’s whistle. After a scored goal the game continues with THROW-OFF from center line. Start and Re-start of the Game

Throw-Off

One player from offensive team steps onto the line and while the others line up behind the center line and initiates play by passing to a teammate.

Defense players line up around their 6 m goal area line or keep at least 3 m distant from ball possessor player.

Game Play

Player can hold the ball for nolonger than 3 seconds.

Players may only take 3 steps with the ball.

Players bouncing the ball with one hand can do so with no restrictions.

Once the time/step limit expire, the player holding the ball must pass or shoot!

Court Players

Can never pass the ball back to the keeper.

Cannot enter the goal area (except after throw) or step/slip onto the goal line.

Ball cannot touch a players leg.

Game Play Cont.Goal Keepers

Keeper can save the ball using any part of the body and can move with restriction in the goal area.

Keep can also be a court player once they leave the goal area with out the ball.

Once the keeper leave the goal area, they are subject to regular court rules.

Goal Throw

Must be taken by the keeper from the goal area without signal from the referee.

Can be a long pass as fast break or counter attack opportunity.

Game play Cont.

The entire ball must cross the inner goal line between goal posts and under the crossbar.

Scoring a Goal

Body Contact Infringements

Light torso contact is allowed.

Hitting, pushing, tripping, clinching, holding, lifting, and intentionally running into other players are forbidden.

Punishments

Slight infringement is a warning with a free throw.

Infringement that spoils a clear scoring chance, 7m penalty shot is awarded.

Dangerous/violent play will result in a free throw or penalty shot.

Free Throw

Free throw is taken from the point of infringement and immediately after (referee does not need to touch the ball.

Free thrower must have one foot contacting the surface and must throw within 3 secs. Defenders must touch the goal line.

If the infringement occurs between the goal area and the free throw line, a free throw is taken just outside of the free throw line opposite from where the foul took place.

Penalty

1. Penalty must be taken from the 7m line within 3 secs of the referee’s whistle.

2. All other players must stand behind the free throw line (3m away from thrower) until the ball is released.

3. Penalty shots are taken from the mark and only the goalie may defend.

4. Thrower must keep on foot in contact with the court behind the 7m line until the ball is released.

Proper Throw Off/In

1. Throw-Off – step on center line.

2. Throw-In – Place one foot on the sideline from where the ball crossed out.
