Dear Parents and Guardians:

In this day and age, every school is looking out for the safety of its students, and

has taken increased measures to ensure that safety. As required by the Archdio-

cese of Indianapolis, parents and other family members must have completed the

Safe and Sacred online training AND have a completed background check on file

at the school in order to volunteer, to come in to observe our students, or to serve

as chaperones for a field trip. In the past, it was sufficient for families to com-

plete the Safe and Sacred online training, but in October 2014, the Archdiocese

of Indianapolis made it a requirement for all individuals who completed the

Safe and Sacred training to also have a background on file. Please understand

that until background checks are on file, we cannot, per the Archdiocese, allow

individuals to volunteer or work as employees of the school. If last year you

completed your Safe and Sacred training, but did not complete the background

check, simply log in to your account again with your password and press the

background check to complete the entire process. Any additional questions may

be addressed to Mrs. Treminio de Celis or to me. The Safe and Sacred website is

https://safeandsacred-archindy.org/login/index.php.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Ramos

Estimados Padres y Tutores:

(Safe and Sacred) y un chequeo criminal. En el pasado, era suficiente que las

familias solamente hicieran el Entrenamiento Seguro y Sagrado (Safe and Sa-

Beginning Band Updates

Mr. Guanajuato has spoken with our students in Grades 5-8 about Beginning Band. This class will be

offered on Mondays after school from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. in the Madonna Room of the Parish Life Cen-

ter. Instrument choices are the following: Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone and

Percussion. NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY TO JOIN. Mr. Guanajuato will have an instrument

“petting zoo” so students can try out an instrument before they sign up. It will be held at school on

Back to School Night, September 1st. Please plan on arriving at 6:00 pm. Please know that if you can-

not afford an instrument, Cardinal Ritter is allowing use of theirs, but we will not have enough for

everyone, and the student may not get his/her first choice of instrument. You will also need to sign a

legal document indicating you will be financially responsible for any and all damages that happen

while the instrument is assigned to your child. (Read carefully.)
