Admin Report Thank You Chapter’s Night raised $330. Thank you to all involved. Pasta Lunch was well received. Again, thank you to all involved.

Welcome Mrs. Karkut in the 7/8 class

Cell Phones A letter has gone home to Grade 6/7/8 students about cell phone usage in the school. They are to be used for learning ONLY and under a teacher’s supervision. There will now be strict consequences for students who don’t adhere to the school’s electronics policy.

Montana’s Idea This would run like a “Chapters Night” where the school would earn 25% of whatever Montana’s earned that day over and above their normal day’s profits.

Next Year: Remind whoever is making it to NOT butter all the pasta. Either oil or left plain. Rae will be the contact with Montana’s and organize.

Pancake Tuesday February 13. Fruit will be cut the night before at 6:30 (this is a half hour before the Council meeting that night). Eating time will be noon.

Professor Jamz Thursday February 15. A letter will be sent home to families letting famliies know about the importance of this fundraiser and how the money could be used. Bracelets will go to classes before the dance to ensure everyone gets one. Fundraising can go towards technology, classroom spaces, etc.

Fun Night Thursday June 21. A Fun Night committee will be meeting separately from Council and come back to the Council with recommendations.

Speak Up Grant Student Council put in a proposal for a Speak Up grant. They haven’t heard if they will be awarded a grant.

Next Movie Night Thursday April 26

Listening to Student Voice Staff has started various clubs to engage students including, Eco Team, Skills Canada, Lego/Robotics, Games and Drawing, Knitting, Chess, Let’s Talk Science, and Hackergal.

Joanne will organize! . Aileen is organizing. Dorothy will be in charge the day of. Fun Night Committee meeting will be Tuesday January 30 at 7 p.m. Aileen will send a letter to Ronnie to blast to parents about this meeting.

Social Justice Social Justice is putting all the money they raise into a “pot” this year and will divide it up at the end of the year towards charities they have chosen. Joanne brought up the “pop tab” fundraiser for wheelchairs. This is a great and easy idea to implement and will be brough to Social Justice.

Other Items School Pictures Does Pegasus have the emergency photo ID card from the Canadian Centre for Child Protection? This is a valuable item that we didn’t receive this year.

Flip Give Perhaps promote FlipGive more. This is a fundraiser for Me To We where you shop online and a portion of the dollars purchased go towards Me To We. JK/SK Reaching Out Could School Council have something to welcome new families to the school? Having some sort of information for new families from School Council might be a good idea. All new families will be invited to Family Fun Night. There may be funds to support this.

Council should discuss at the next meeting the form that a “Welcome Letter” could take.
