Heavenly Father, As I enter another week of my Lenten journey, guide me to the path that leads to you. Fill my heart with gratitude, patience, strength, and peace as I strive to become the-best-version-of-myself, honestly admitting my shortcomings and sins.
As I renew my resolve each day to become a better person, let me hear your voice in the deepest reaches of my heart. Give me rest in you.
Help me to accept others, showing them your great love instead of casting judgment. Stay with me through the busy days this week and remind me that when I need comfort, solitude, wisdom, or guidance, I can always turn to you.

THE EXTRA EFFORT Saint Paul says we are all called to a holy life. We may think that Lent is only about fasting from food or abstaining from meat, but no. The Church encourages us to give more time to prayer, to offer personal service to needy people, and to give up something we really like, not something we’ll never miss. The only thing we can’t do is avoid Lent altogether. This would separate us from God and the community of faith, and seriously call our discipleship into question. These additional practices and penances should deepen our awareness of our daily gifts from our all-loving God. Shifting our attention away from ourselves frees us to offer our abilities and resources to God, to God’s church, and to our world. Estas prácticas y penitencias adicionales nos harán tomar conciencia de los dones que diariamente recibimos de nuestro amadísimo Dios. Dejar de centrar nuestra atención en nosotros mismos nos libera para poder ofrecer nuestras habilidades y nuestros recursos a Dios, a la Iglesia de Dios y al mundo. El 18 de Marzo de 10am a 12pm en el Auditorio de nuestra parroquia
Irish Soda Bread 4 cups flour 1/2 cup sugar 1 tablespoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup margarine/butter soft (not melted) 1 1/2 cup buttermilk or sour milk* 2 cups raisins Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and soda and salt in a large bowl. Cut in mar-garine til crumbly. Add raisins. Add "milk". Turn out not a floured board and knead for 2 minutes. Shape into a 6 x 10 loaf. I try to keep it flat for more even baking.
