SMM Food Pantry
The Food Pantry ministry is an important ministry at St. Mary Magdalene providing help to those in need in our area. The SMM Food Pantry operates every Wednesday morning until 11:30 AM and is one of the few pantries in the area that provides a meal in addition to providing food supplies. The SMM Food Pantry purchases our food supplies from the East Texas Food Bank and typically serves 40-80 clients per week at a cost of $500-1000.
The Food Pantry is made possible by parish volunteers who assist with interviewing and registering qualified clients, preparing meals in the kitchen, and retrieving, organizing, packaging and distributing food supplies to our clients. We can always use volunteers particularly with helping in the kitchen area.
The Food Pantry ministry gets primary financial support from additional, separate contri-butions made by parishioners. Please help provide continuing support to the Food Pantry by using the envelopes provided in the church with a check made out to ‘St. Mary Mag-dalene Food Pantry’.
Thank you very much.

Dominican Republic Mission Trip
The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception will send a missionary team to the
Dominican Republic February 10-16, 219; this will be our 7th mission trip to the
Dominican Republic. We seek to serve our brothers and sisters there in conjunction with
Mission Joven, a well-established volunteer organization promoting the Catholic faith
through works of charity. 27 people from 9 parishes (including St Mary Magdalene) in
the Diocese of Tyler will be participating in our February 2019 mission trip. We have been working hard to prepare for our week of
service to those in need. With your prayers and financial support, we will be building 11 homes, providing medical care and free
medicines at 5 pop-up clinics, and teaching bible stories in 5 schools. Your continued support of our mission experience is a true
blessing to us and those we serve. We have set up a “baby registry” on Amazon with a list of school supplies, construction supplies
and medical items we hope to bring with us. You can search for “Dominican Republic Mission of Love” and purchase needed items
which will be shipped directly to one of our participants to be packed and taken with us. The following items are also being
collected: toothpaste, toothbrushes, bar soap, crayons, glue sticks, and scissors. These can be brought to the Cathedral office or
places in the bins marked Dominica Republic Mission Trip. Monetary donations can be made out to CIC-DR Mission and mailed o
Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, ATTM: Kelly Jackman, 423 S. Broadway Ave, Tyler TX 75702. Please continue to ray for us
