TWENTY-SIXTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME SEPTEMBER 26 2021
VISITING MISSIONARY
Fr. Joseph J. Arackal V.C., a Vincentian Missionary
Priest from India, will be in our parish on the
weekend of October 9th & 10th to participate in our
Annual Missionary Cooperation Plan. He will preach
at all the Masses during the October 9th & 10th
weekend and will make an appeal on behalf of the
Vincentian Missions. The Vincentian Congregation
(V.C.), a Missionary Sending Religious
Congregation, was founded in Kerala, India, modeled
after the Congregation of the Mission founded by
St. Vincent de Paul. Members of this flourishing
Religious Congregation are engaged in Mission Work
in all parts of India and in several countries in Africa.
There will be special mission collection on the
October 9th & 10th weekend to help the Vincentian
Missionaries. We urge you to be very generous in
your mission offering since these Missionaries need
our help. Please keep Fr. Joseph and all the
Vincentian Missionaries and seminarians in
your prayers.

Memorial Basketball League, Inc.
Players, Coaches, Board of Directors/Trustees, School
Administrators, Workers and Families, Due to the
continuing health and safety concerns related to
COVID-19 Pandemic we have made the difficult
decision to take a sabbatical for the 2021 Fr. John Powers
Memorial Basketball League Season. We have been
optimistic that circumstances would have improved so
that we could operate safely and efficiently, however, due
to guidelines and restrictions put in place by the State of
Colorado, the County Health Department, School District
60, shortage of Officials (referees), guidance from Bishop
Berg and Diocese of Pueblo, and for the safety of all
involved and the community we feel this is in the best
interest for everyone.

In response to Christ’s invitation to keep prayerful
vigil with Him in the darkness of night as His own
confrontation against evil took dramatic expression in
the Garden of Gethsemane. This ancient tradition of
night-prayer before the Most Blessed Sacrament of
the Altar, Our Eucharistic Lord, is rich in significance,
inspiration & in symbolism as we atone for the
disciples inability to stay awake and watch with Him.
