THIS WEEK’S GOSPEL Pilate said to Jesus, “Are you the King of the Jews?” Jesus answered, “Do you say this on your own or have oth-ers told you about me?” Pilate answered, “I am not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests handed you over to me. What have you done?” Jesus answered, “My kingdom does not belong to this world. If my kingdom did belong to this world, my attendants would be fighting to keep me from being handed over to the Jews. But as it is, my kingdom is not here.” So Pilate said to him, “Then you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say I am a king. For this I was born and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.” John 18:33b-37

What is truth? Truth is love incarnate (made flesh)

in Jesus Christ, our Savior!

THE PASTOR’S PONDERANCES

Today Jesus is being stonewalled. He is an innocent person bringing a life-giving message of love, and He is given the greatest lesson of our lives in Him through the Passion Narrative by sacrificing His life so that our lives might be complete and full (ultimately in heaven)!! Fr. Daniel

ST. MARY CHRISTMAS FAIR Our Christmas Fair raised $10,166. A sincere thank you to the Rochester business community for their contin-ued support. To the committee who give their time, talents, and treasure to put together a successful fair, thank you. We welcome you again next year. To the men who did the heavy lifting to set up the hall, we appreciate you more than you can ever know. To the choir, you added cheer to our day, and to you, our dedicated parishioners, you made the theme baskets. You baked, sewed, and knitted and brought us jewelry and purses. You bought liquor, gift cer-tificate, and penny sale items. You have supported us in every way. Thank you seems inadequate but know that we truly value your support. We could not do this fair without you. You’re the best.

SR. LUCIE SAYS

This weekend we celebrate the Feast of

Christ the King, which is now known as the

Feast of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Uni-

verse. It is also the end of the liturgical year

and may be time for us to reflect on our rela-

tionship with Christ during the past year. It

may be time to make resolutions to remember

and to try to get closer to our Lord, for that is

an important part of what it means to be a

Roman Catholic.

PRAYERS FOR OUR COUNTRY Please join in saying a silent prayer for our country at 12 o’clock noon each and every day. Evil is all around us but so are blessings, and we know God hears our prayers. A meaningful prayer like “have mercy on us” or “God pro-tect our country” said sincerely is all that is needed or your own words that come from the heart. Thank you “nothing is impossible with God.” Your name is not necessary, but if you wish to give it, our names will be sent to the Divine Mercy Prayer Line for our protection.
