Founded on the principle that children need and deserve a healthy, supportive environment, St Martinde Porres has developed a unique model for helping young people who, tragically, cannot look to theirparents for the nurturing they need to develop their innate, unique gifts. Through the eternalcommitment of Father Boyet Concepcion, St Martin de Porres has neared completion of the expansionof its home for street children in Bustos, Bulacan.
Based in the Philippines, the Bahay at Yaman ni San Martin de Porres Foundation works to establish programs to benefit children who, without the consistent care of loving parents, might fall victim to poverty, disability, and abuse.
In 2010, St Martin de Porres, in collaboration with Child At Venture launched its Young Entrepreneur Program specifically for underprivileged, out-of-school youth in Metro Manila.
The goal of this project is to inspire youth to entertain the idea of becoming entrepreneurs, to conceptualize their respective businesses and for us to provide them with the practical training & education necessary to help them realize their goals. This pilot project was established at Brgy 105, Tondo, Manila and will
run its initial course throughout 2011 into 1st quarter 2012, afterwhich time will undergo evaluation to determine ways of improvingthe program.
