DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY & HOUR OF GREAT MERCY This weekend we celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday. From 3:00-4:00 p.m. in the church there will be a bilingual cele-bration of the Hour of Great Mercy with Exposition and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, The Divine Mercy Chaplet for the Sick and Dying. Jesus told St. Faustina: “At three o’clock, implore My mercy, especially for sinners…. This is the hour of great mercy….In this hour I will refuse nothing to a soul that makes a request of Me in virtue of My passion” (Diary, 1320). Domingo de la Divina Misericordia y La Hora de la Gran Misericordia Este fin de semana celebraremos el Domingo de la Misericordia. De 3:00-4:00pm en la iglesia habrá una celebración bilingüe a la Hora de la Gran Misericordia con Exposición y Bendición del Santísimo Sacra-mento, la Coronilla de la Divina Misericordia por los Enfermos y Mori-bundos y Alabanzas a la Divina Misericordia. Jesús le dijo a la Hna. Faustina: “A la hora de las tres imploren Mi misericordia, especialmente por los pecadores…Ésta es la hora de la gran misericordia…. WOMEN OF THE WELL RETREAT Saturday, May 4th from 8AM to 1:30PM in the Benish Center, hosted by the Women of the Well (WOW) Ministry. OUR MISSION STATEMENT St. Margaret Mary Church is a warm and diverse family unified by our Roman Catholic faith through the celebration of the Holy Eu-charist. Like the Apostles, we teach and proclaim the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ and through our ministries we serve the needs of the community in Sacrament, Word, and Deed.
MAY CROWNING OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY The traditional May Crowning will be held next Sunday (May 5) at the 8:30AM and 12:30PM Masses. If your child would like to take part in the procession, come early, have them bring flowers and meet Robin Yanez and Rosa Villa in the narthex of the church before Mass. MINISTRY LEADERS NEEDED! VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: The Vacation Bible School Ministry is in need of a new Ministry Leader. We are looking for someone that is organized and is comforta-ble working with adults and teen volunteers. This ministry leader will organize a one-week experience of learning, prayer and fun for our parish children, usual-ly scheduled during the summer vacation. This year’s VBS is scheduled to take place the week of July 22nd – 26th. Parent/teen volunteers make this event fun and successful. Some preparation is necessary prior to the event. Please prayer-fully consider taking on this ministry. If you feel called to serve our parish chil-dren in this way, please email Chuck Ramos: [email protected]. EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS TO THE SICK & HOMEBOUND: Our Homebound Ministry is seeking a lead to coordinate training, serving the homebound, maintaining records, and especially providing guidance, support, and assistance to our current and new ministers to the homebound. We have a small group who assist our lead and a team of 51 ministers who always step up when called upon. Please prayerfully consider filling this role. CATHOLIC SOCIAL TEACHING In the Gospel today Jesus greets his frightened and traumatized disci-ples with this greeting: Peace! The readings today convey that pro-found sense of peace that is the legacy of Jesus. This peace is not char-acterized by the absence of conflict, but rather, by a deep sense of well-being that accompanies a lively faith. Can we bring this deep sense of peace to those around us experiencing conflict? How can we be better peacemakers in our world by centering ourselves more fully in Christ? Scholarship Deadline Knights of Columbus, Council 7600 of St. Margaret Mary Church will be awarding two (2), $500 educational scholarships this spring 2019. Students who will be 2019 high school graduates, or who are 21 years or younger and are attending college, university, business school, trade school, or semi-nary are eligible to compete for these scholarships. All appli-cations must be submitted by May 1, 2019 to be considered. Please contact Timothy J.
