T he 2014 edition of MDD Expo revealed a resurgence of different distribution circuits and the evolution of Private Label Brands:

An analysis of the visitors to the event has indeed shown that the fair is experiencing a growing interest from the Large to Medium sized retail leaders (Auchan, Carrefour, Cora…), the large scale catering sector (Elior, Sodexo, Accor..), the home service (Toupargel, Thiriet), the freezer centres (PICARD), other new forms of catering (IKEA , McDonald’s, Brioche Dorée…), delicatessen (Fauchon, Hediard) as well as from the e-business drive through or websites such as venteprivee.com.

Wholesalers and suppliers of the traditional or centralised restaurants, of convenience stores such as Cash & Carrys like Metro, Pomona, Promocash, Transgourmet… or specialised wholesalers: Avifrais, Rayon Boissons, also took part in the event in numbers.

Furthermore at our 2014 event, the French Exporters, most of whom are located in RUNGIS, also found suppliers that can cater to the needs of their international client base... It is also an excellent way for the manufacturers to enter the export business.

One can note that this segmentation of visitors, also included an increase in the number of international visitors with some major retail chains such as Delhaize, Colruyt and ICA taking part. Most visitors were European (Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland….), with some significant delegations from Sweden, Russia, China, Canada, USA and Japan. .

Finally, as far as the non-food sector, and in particular the HBA sector, is concerned there was a major increase in decision makers (L’Oréal, Léa Nature, Yves Rocher, Marionnaud…) visiting the event. Therefore MDD Expo will take this excellent opportunity to develop this sector by including new exhibitors that will further the offer in this sector (new ingredients, accessories or packaging...).

Over the last few years, the tremendous amount of work achieved by the MDD Expo teams to market the event has proved successful, and we are delighted about it.

Nevertheless, we need to continue pushing forward and, rest assured, this is our motto!

Espace DégustationAfter being selected by a specialised jury, many food products and innovative beverages from our exhibitors will be prepared by the EPMTTH School (Paris School for the food, tourism, and hotel business) and presented during various tastings throughout the 2 days of the event. A unique occasion to discover new recipes and tantalise the visitors’ taste buds in search of new sensations!
