Many people want to read the Bible because they know it is God’s Word but give up because it is so complicated. The Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible study pro-gram helps you to get the “big picture” of the Bible by showing how fourteen narra-tive books of the Bible tell the complete story from Adam and Eve to Christ and the Church. This is an 8-session study program in which Jeff Cavins will explain how to read the Bible so that we can actually understand it! Video presentations will help us dis-cover the chronological order to the key people, places and events of the twelve time periods organized in The Bible Timeline Chart. Perhaps you have considered a bible study before. Perhaps you would feel more comfortable having the opportunity be involved in an overview, just to test “getting your feet wet” before committing to a longer term, more in depth commitment. This is the place to start! Departure on this journey is scheduled for Sunday, 3/08/20, at 12:00 noon. We will travel on 3/15, 3/22, and 3/29. There will be a two-week layover on 4/05 and 4/12 to allow time to sight-see over Palm Sunday and Holy Week. We will resume our travels and exploration on 4/19 continuing each Sunday afternoon, ending our journey on 5/10/20. Your ticket will cost $14.95 (normally $24.95). WE ARE IN NEED OF HELP. The Heavenly Dusters, a group of dedicated parishioners who serve our Parish by clean-ing the Church every week, is asking for volunteers to help with their efforts. The group meets every Friday, immediately following the 8 am morning Mass to dust, vacuum, polish, sweep, etc. so that the rest of us enjoy a clean and tidy worship space for our weekend Lit-urgies. The Heavenly Dusters reduce our parish’s operational expenses by thousands of dollars per year and we are most thankful for their sacrifice. As the saying goes, “Many hands make light work.” Are you available for ½ hour, 45 minutes per week on Friday mornings? If so, your help would be most wel-come. Greetings From St. Laurence Catholic School, Pre-K through Third Grade students took a Field Trip to the Cernan Space Center and Planetarium in River Grove. Their favorite observation was the real space suit. Valentines Day was a big hit at our school this past Friday. Chocolates, flowers, paper valentines, and sweets were every-where.
