The parish offices will be closed on Good Friday, March 30th, and Easter Monday, April 2nd. The offices will reopen on Tuesday April 3rd at 9:00 a.m. We wish everyone a wonderful Easter.

Thank you to all new ADA contributors this past week, and CONGRATULATIONS

to our parish community for its success in the 2018 Annual Dioce-san Appeal! Once again, we exceeded our goal by many per-centage points, making it possible for us to collect a rebate to help us with parish expenses for the year. Please check the posters in church for the final totals. We could not have had this success without the generosity of so many. Thank you. Special thanks to our chairperson, Frank Bonzell, and to our dedicated gift processor, Virginia Puzar, for all their help. NOTE: It’s not too late to help St. Jo-seph of Cupertino! Even though the campaign is coming to an offi-cial end, pledges will be accepted through the end of 2018!

You may prepare for the celebration of Di-vine Mercy Sunday (April 7-8) by praying a novena (nine days) of Divine Mercy chaplets beginning on Good Friday. For the appropri-ate prayers, please refer to the novena book-lets distributed in previous years.

Winter Faith Collaborative for Unhoused (update!) The Winter Faith Collaborative is an interfaith movement that was formed in 2015 to share ideas and advocate for the homeless community. They have engaged over 100 faith communities across Santa Clara County with the collective aim to serve and shelter those in the houseless community who are living outdoors this winter. Your willingness to volunteer at the shelters is critical in the effort to house the unhoused and save lives this winter. One of the overnight shelters for the homeless in the Winter Faith Collaborative is Grace Baptist Church in downtown San Jose. It is sheltering 50+ homeless guests (men and women) from January to April. Grace Baptist Church is located at 484 East San Fernando Street in San Jose (very close to San Jose State Uni-versity.) Volunteers are needed to: - bring dinner or any part of a dinner for any number of people (doesn’t have to be for 50 people as they use all food donations to supplement what they serve for dinner – every bit helps! Also, no need to schedule – bring any night between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.) - bring items for breakfast (not a hot meal) – suggestions: breakfast bars, individual packs of cereal/oatmeal, individual tubs of yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, bagels, bread, pastries, fruit, juice, milk, coffee, butter, jam, cups, bowls. - donate other items – suggestions: towels (new or used/clean), laundry detergent, dryer sheets; toiletries (regular size or sample size) including soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, deodorant, etc. (Note: unfortunately, there is no space to store clothing there, so no donations of clothing) If you would like to make a donation of food or other articles, your SJC parish contact, Mary Ellen Hen-nig (408) 255-6382 [email protected] , would be glad to accept your items and deliver them to Grace Baptist Church.
