Let us give thanks for all those who have made pledges in this year’s Annual Diocesan Appeal. With just one week remaining in the campaign, we still hope to hear from those of you who have not yet made a pledge. All funds will now go to our parish—and they are needed now more than ever because of the lack of Sunday collection income. Please turn in your pledge this week!

Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord

Stewardship at St. Joseph of Cuper no “Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!” shout the crowds in today’s Gospel. May we be always ready to share our blessings when we are sent in His name! Are we, how will we accomplish that?

Stewardship Prayer Rev. Gregory Kimm, 2009 God rich in kindness and generous in love, You call us to be your people, a church, a community of faith. You have entrusted St. Joseph of Cuper no Parish to our care. Help us to be good stewards, always worthy of your trust. As you are a en ve to the needs of each of us, Enable us to be a en ve to the needs of our parish, using the gi s you have given us not just for our own good, but for the good of all. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our Brother, and in the Spirit, who makes us one. Amen!

Universal prayer intention-Freedom from Addiction We pray that those suffering from addiction may be helped and accompanied.

SPECIAL EMERGENCY PLENARY INDULGENCE Pope Francis has authorized the granting of a special emer-gency plenary indulgence for all those affected by the corona-virus COVID-19. Those eligible include the sick, their fami-ly members, medical personnel, and anyone who cares for the sick. This indulgence is extended as well to people who pray for the sick or dead or for an end to the pandemic. Those who wish to receive the indulgence are asked to fulfill, in a spirit of detachment from sin, certain conditions. If they are sick and confined to hospitals or their own homes, they may unite themselves spiritually through the media to the celebra-tion of mass, the rosary, the stations of the cross, or some oth-er devotion. If this is not possible, they may simply recite the creed, the Our Father, and an invocation to Mary. Others should visit the blessed sacrament (in places where this can be done), read the scriptures for a half hour, or pray the ro-sary, stations of the cross, or Divine Mercy chaplet. All should also have the “will” to make a sacramental confession, receive holy communion, and pray for the Holy Father’s in-tentions as soon as possible. A plenary indulgence is the re-mission of all temporal punishment due to sin, what we com-monly think of as “time in purgatory.” For more information: https://www.vaticannews.va/en/vatican-city/news/2020-03/church-grants-special-indulgence-coronavirus-patients.html
