CORONAVIRUS DIRECTIVES FROM ARCHBISHOP ETIENNE/FR. MILHTON
Dear Parishioners,
The coronavirus is top of mind for everyone. Our response to this spreading virus must reflect how we, as disciples of Jesus, express our love of God and neighbor. In caring for all members of our community — especially the elderly and the vulnerable — we are carrying out the mission of the church. It is with this pastoral focus and care for the common good that we issue the following directives to parishes in the Archdiocese of Seattle, effectively immediately, until further notice: Love of Our Neighbors:
• St. Joseph church is open for private prayer during office hours from 10am — 3 pm
• please stay home if you are sick or are experiencing symptoms of sickness. For any health-related guidance, please follow the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control at:
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/prevention-treatment.html
• Please obey social distancing of 6 feet.

Remember, NO food or drink of any kind, especially Gum & Candy, is allowed in the church! It is prohibited and also breaks the fast requirements when going to communion. Please wrap and place your gum, etc. in the trash containers provided be-
fore entering the Church. Let us show respect for our Father in this Holy Place.
Pro-Life: Initiative -1698. Every living human being has a right to life, including unborn human beings. We know that life ends when the heart permanently ceases to function conversely life has begun when the heart begins to function. Therefore unborn human beings have a right to life when their HEART BEATS! This measure would require an ultra-sound before an abortion and if fetal heartbeat is present prohibit abor-tion, with exceptions. Please call the office to find out how you can
learn more and sign this ballot measure as soon as possible. Church will be open Mon-Fri. 10-3PM
Limited to 8 People at one time
According with the new orders from the Government “stay home— stay healthy” we are closed until further notice from the
Archdiocese of Seattle.
Please pray for us and for all those suffering today. We are one Body.
We pray for our sick parishioners that they will know the healing presence of Christ** Please pray for

Transitional Diaconate Ordinations
Three Seminarians of the Archdiocese of Seattle will be ordained Dea-
cons, moving forward towards their journey to the Priesthood.
Let us keep them in our prayers as these three men prepare to be
ordained deacons.
Initiative 1698 (I-1698):
The Heartbeat Initiative
I-1698 is an initiative that requires an ultrasound of a fetus be per-
formed no less than 24 hours prior to an abortion. If a heartbeat is
detected, it will be unlawful for an abortion to be performed.
The bishops of Washington state support I-1698 and encourage pa-
rishioners to gather petition signatures. Signatures may be gathered at
churches with the expressed approval of the pastor.
Petition Deadline: June 24, 2020

Prayer for Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most holy Eucharist. I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separat-
ed from you. Amen
One of the provisions in the CARES Act states that for the year 2020, individual taxpayers who do not itemize deduc-tions may claim up to $300 of charitable contributions made as a deduction in determining your adjusted gross income. Would you be interested in taking advantage of this tax credit by donating to St. Joseph School?
We would be blessed by your support!

Annual Catholic Appeal
This year’s goal from St. Joseph to the ACA is $49,194. If we exceed this goal, our rebate would go towards repairing/replacing church windows which is badly needed and painting with in the church & other repairs. St. Mary’s goal is $20,915, their project would provide painting in the social hall & other repairs that are needed. Some of you have already made your donation, and we thank you. Please
prayerfully consider making a commitment.
You can donate in person at the office or mail to office or online at
