When we talk about prayer, Catholic Tradition is very practical and smart about it. Mothers teach children to pray always to Jesus, Mother Mary and other special saints. One very important prayer is reciting ejacula-tions which are a kind of “Mantra” which one can re-cite very frequently. They give us a sense of security and confidence in the protection of the saint we pray to especially while in trouble.

My mother taught me when I was little to pray to Blessed Mother Mary always calling her, “my Mother and my comforter”. It was the best and most comfort-ing experience for me while in trouble. I could feel the protecting and comforting presence of my Mother Mary every time I say that prayer. I can confidently testify that She literally helped me in many occasions in my life. I promised Blessed Mother that I would give testimony to her protection everywhere.

Another such short prayer is, “Jesus my Lord and my Savior”. Some people love to call “My Jesus” more frequently with the warm feeling of His love in their hearts.

These are just two examples of personal prayer that will boost our spirituality every day. It shows how good Catholic parents train their children grow spiritu-ally stronger.

This time of Thanksgiving, it is worth reflecting on our spiritual life and express our gratitude to those who helped us to have the spiritual fervor that help our salvation.

Celebration of thanksgiving is an opportunity to acknowledge those great people in our lives and their great role in our spiritual life. Most important ones are our parents, siblings, aunts and uncles who nurtured the Catholic spirituality along with our physical growth.

As we thank the Lord for the salvation He brought us, we are filled with gratitude to our family and friends who helped us to open our hearts to receive it and grow with it.

Once we are spiritually alive, we are full of gratitude.

This is primarily the essence of

Happy Thanks giving.

We have to thank the Lord, Blessed Mother, all our der saints, our parents, family, and friend and finally thanks to our great Nation and all the opportunities we are able to enjoy.

Cuando hablamos de oración, la Tradicion Catolica es muy práctica e inteligente al respecto. Las madres enseñan a los niños a orar siempre a Jesús, a la Madre María y a otros santos. Una oración muy importante es recitar eyaculaciones que son una especie de "Mantra" que uno puede recitar con mucha frecuencia. Nos dan una sensación de seguridad y confianza en la protección del santo al que rezamos, especialmente cuando estamos en problemas. Mi madre me enseñó cuando era pequeño a orar a la Santísima Virgen María siempre llamándola "mi madre y mi consoladora". Fue la mejor y más reconfortante experiencia para mí mientras estaba en problemas. Podía sentir la presencia protectora y reconfortante de mi Madre María cada vez que decía esa oración. Puedo testificar confiadamente que Ella literalmente me ayudó en muchas ocasiones en mi vida. Le prometí a la Santísima Madre que daría testimonio de su protección en todas partes. Otra oración corta como esta es "Jesús mi Señor y mi Salvador". Algunas personas aman llamar a "Mi Jesús" con más frecuencia con el cálido sentimiento de Su amor en sus corazones. Estos son solo dos ejemplos de oración personal que impulsarán nuestra espiritualidad todos los días. Muestra cómo los buenos padres católicos enseñan a sus hijos a crecer espiritualmente. En esta época de Acción de Gracias, vale la pena reflexionar sobre nuestra vida espiritual y expresar nuestra gratitud a aquellos que nos ayudaron a tener el fervor espiritual que ayuda a nuestra salvación. Celebrar la acción de gracias es una oportunidad para reconocer a esas grandes personas en nuestras vidas y su gran papel en nuestra vida espiritual. Los más importantes son nuestros padres, hermanos, tías y tíos que nutrieron la espiritualidad. Mientras agradecemos al Señor por la salvación que Él nos trajo, estamos llenos de gratitud a nuestra familia y amigos que nos ayudaron a abrir nuestros corazones para recibirlo y crecer con él. Una vez que estamos espiritualmente vivos, estamos llenos de gratitud.

Esta es principalmente la esencia del Feliz dia de Accion de Gracias.

Tenemos que agradecer al Señor, a la Santísima Virgen, a todos nuestros santos, a nuestros padres, a nuestra familia y a nuestros amigos, y finalmente gracias a nuestra gran nación y a todas las oportunidades que podemos disfrutar.

TRADICIONES DE NUESTRA FE El 23 de noviembre de 1927, un pelotón de soldados conducía al jesuita mexicano Miguel Agustín Pro Juárez al paredón de fusilamiento. Uno de ellos le susurraba “perdóneme”. Miguel le respondió que no sólo lo perdonaba, sino que le daba las gracias por darle la oportunidad de dar testimonio de su fe derramando su sangre por Cristo. Días antes había sido arrestado y acusado de intento de asesinato contra el presidente mexicano Álvaro Obregón. En realidad su delito era el de bautizar niños, bendecir matrimonios, llevar la comunión a los enfermos y escuchar la confesión de los arrepentidos.

Miguelito nació en 1891 y entró al noviciado jesuita en 1914, al mismo tiempo que el gobierno mexicano comenzaba una persecución en contra de la Iglesia. Debido a esta situación, Miguel tuvo que hacer su formación religiosa fuera de México. Apenas pudo, regresó a su nación como sacerdote e hizo su pastoral a escondidas, sabiendo muy bien que podía ser martirizado.

TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION Earlier this autumn, we looked at how our Eucharistic Prayers have been enriched by the approval of several new prayers to augment the old Roman Canon. For us, there are the four standard prayers, three for Masses with Children, and the most recent addition, the former Swiss Eucharistic Prayer with four alternative forms (now known as the Eucharistic Prayer for Masses for Various Needs and Occasions).

We also have two Eucharistic Prayers for Masses of Reconciliation. The source for these two prayers is the request by many bishops for a special prayer for the “Holy Year” of 1975. Originally, the committee in charge was commissioned to write a single prayer, but the theme proved so rich that it gave rise to two. The first is based on and develops biblical texts on reconciliation. The second starts with the experience of living in today’s fractured world, and how the Spirit calls us to reconciliation and peace. Not everyone was happy with all this creativity, saying that if too many were published, it would be difficult for the Vatican to control further requests. Everyone thought the pope would put strict limits on the prayers, but in the end he said he was willing to open doors that had long been closed. Although he approved them for a period of only three years, they were never formally removed from the Sacramentary and have been incorporated into the new Roman Missal. —Rev. SHARING OUR GIFTS

  Autumn is the season for harvesting and sharing the fruits of our labors. This week’s scriptures use images of the harvest, family life, pregnancy, and investment to describe the abundant harvest in the reign of God. We discover that sharing the gifts we have been given brings eternal rewards for everyone.

In the Gospel parable a master entrusts his possessions to three servants before going on a journey. Each is given some talents. What they do with those talents determines what the master will do with them when he returns. How about us? What are we doing with our talents? How will our Master treat us when he returns? El otoño es la estación de la cosecha y de compartir los frutos de nuestra labor. Las lecturas bíblicas de esta semana emplean imágenes de la cosecha, la vida familiar, el embarazo y la inversión para describir la abundante cosecha en el Reino de Dios. Descubrimos que compartir los dones que hemos recibido trae recompensa eterna para todos.

En la parábola del Evangelio un hombre le encarga sus bienes a tres servidores antes de partir de viaje. A cada uno le da dinero. Lo que hacen con ese dinero determina lo que el amo hará con ellos cuando regrese. ¿Y qué de nosotros? ¿Qué estamos haciendo con nuestros talentos? ¿Cómo nos tratará nuestro Maestro cuando vuelva?

Federal Privacy Law prohibits the hospital from giving room numbers, so we must have prior knowledge of a patient’s room number before we visit the hospital. The Sacrament of Anointing is done upon request prior to surgery or a illness.
